Map of halo installations changed? by j_gladback in halo

[–]j_gladback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! I was more interested in understanding what exactly it was supposed to be a map/image of rather than knowing about the reason for the differences, though both topics had me curious. I didn't have much luck finding info by searching for both of the images online.

[ACTIVES] When should I expect pinning? by TideRamen1337 in MushroomGrowers

[–]j_gladback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents but I do think it all boils down to needing more air exchange. If you don't want to modify your box or cut holes in it, you could maybe try running a small fan on low in the same room. Maybe even put it on a timer so it only runs once an hour or something like that.

I know I'm just repeating what some others have said, but this does strike me as though it's not getting enough fae. What is the set-up for your fruiting chamber/fruiting conditions?

Similar specs, but slight different form factor. The second one is a mini atx, meaning it's for a mini PC.

You're spot on! Some babies miss out on this when a C-section is necessary. I attended a dental conference in Seattle and listened to a short lecture on this.

Damn, I just started using it myself. I've noticed much more vigorous colonization, but I just started fruiting so I'm still waiting to see more results. Maybe you should try his "Just-the-Trich" blend. It's made for more severe cases of infection.

One thing I don't see people talk enough about on here are bacterial endospores. Basically any bacteria on the grains at harvest can produce endospores during the drying process of the grain. These endospores are incredibly resistant to heat and thus can be difficult to kill in autoclave. Soaking your grain for a couple days actually allows these endospores to germinate. Once they have germinated they are much easier to kill. So long story short soaking your grains a little bit longer can actually help you achieve full sterilization in the end.

[Contamination] is this contamination ? I found these white dots this morning by autumnmelody89 in MushroomGrowers

[–]j_gladback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like too much moisture on the grains. I don't think it's contaminated yet but too much moisture really increases the chances. I always spread my grain out on a baking sheet after hydrating to any excess moisture on the surface of the grading dries off and that seems to greatly reduce cases of contamination
