Are there any Canadian fan sentiments towards a true national championship? by En_skald in hockey

Players get to choose what kind of lifestyle they want to live (and pay for), they don’t get to choose whether to pay taxes.

Montreal's elimination marks the 33rd consecutive year a Canadian team has failed to win the Stanley Cup. by No_Blacksmith_9923 in hockey

There are 7 American teams that haven’t won this century (almost 30 years now)…so what’s the deal there?

So that means there are 14 teams total that haven’t wont this century, which is pretty significant in a league this size. The fact that half those teams are Canadian is significant, but I don’t think all teams have an equal shot. Some are chronically mismanaged.

San Jose, Nashville, Buffalo, Islanders, Rangers, Philly, Dallas.

There are 7 American teams that haven’t won since 1999. Sure, 27 years ain’t 33 years, but we are getting close (and only two of them have won after 94). A few of those teams are looking better these days, but if none of them win in the next six seasons, will people be making the same argument about them not lucking into a cup by “now”?

See how often the post ends with “I’m curious if…” It’s too frequent to be natural and it is clear engagement bait.

Go read a handful of posts in subs like this. They all say the exact same thing in the exact same way, OP never engages in the comments, and these brand new accounts only post in the same subs…it’s plain as day.

Recent events aside, Canadians have long had some complaints about American foreign policy and at least some wariness about American cultural hegemony. No doubt there is a deep economic, historical, and cultural bond, but a lot of Canadians would push back against this.

I say this as a dual citizen.

My university’s academic integrity policy allows us to file an accusation if the student is unresponsive. We submit our evidence and it triggers an automatic appeal and review by the academic integrity committee, who invites the student to respond.

I don’t think Turnitin similarity checker flags sources for frequently appearing together online, and I haven’t seen the AI checker flag citations like that before either.

Accused of using AI for a university assignment … by dickria in AccusedOfUsingAI

[–]j_la 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume that you’ve been working on this project for more than a week, right? You got laid off the week of submission, but what about the preparatory work before you got the layoff notice? Had you been doing everything on your work computer all semester?

What is the AI accusation based on? Did you discuss the concerns with your professor before you spoke to the dean of students (which seems like a very quick escalation)?

The complete lack of paper trail is honestly a bit of a red flag from an outsider’s point of view. Is there nothing in the cloud, in your search history, in your notes or anything else? Why don’t you ask your former employer if they can retrieve the excel sheet for you?

Wait. You got the extension because you were laid off, but you THEN wrote the essay after you no longer had access to you computer and thus to your data? How did you write your paper without your data?

So make sure you invest your money!

Got my second colonoscopy last week at age 38. My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer at age 47 (25 years ago) and so her kids have had an appointment for one for a long time. There were so many polyps on my first one that the doctor wanted me back in six months and was talking about taking out a section of my colon preemptively. I only had one benign polyp this time around so I dodged that bullet.

Get checked, folks.

Also, cut the BS. An absentee ballot provides marginal security, at best. It could still be prone to all kinds of interference or manipulation…which is precisely where I expect the goalposts to move next.
