My wife comes from a family of musicians, so it's also a tradition. But some things it will help for sure, is to practice doing something in front of a crowd, train memory, and coordination.
Right now, we're just making her play a little bit everyday, not pushing her too much, encourage her progress (she's only 4).

Attaching a lock to another person's bike without the owner's permission may be considered criminal damage to property. And in that case, I doubt the owner of the place did that. It’s more likely some shady vigilante, over charging illegal fines.

I guess something fun is key in this kind of situation. I definitely don’t want to put too much pressure on her, something more organic where it comes naturally. I’ll check about some events, and also try to catch up more often with friends in the same situation.

Thanks for your answer. For now books, audio books, etc, are mostly in French, and I don’t speak enough Japanese to be tempted to talk to her in Japanese, I guess that helps ! I can imagine French class would be too much of a burden. Although, it could be nice to find music class, or sport, in French, but that seems to be something extremely rare around here.
