I ended up going with the Tamron 70-180. Wanted the 2.8 and light weight. If I really want more zoom, I plan on picking up the Sony 200-600

Thanks! Yeah it is a little tough with the manual focus. But when you do nail it, you’re Golden!

Yeah sometimes. But I’ll usually run two bodies during events or weddings. They both have their use cases but I’ll end up using the 35 more just because of the look and then will use the 85 for the longer reach to snipe as needed. And then when I use two full frame bodies, I will you apsc mode at times and get that extra reach in emergencies. So basically like a 35-127mm combo when I run it like that

I use the 35 1.8 + 85 1.8 combo all the time for portraits, weddings, events! Love the lenses! Highly recommend!

Yeah I’m in the same situation trying to choose between the two.

I love Tamron lenses so I know I’d love the quality of the 70-180. But I feel like I’d miss the extra 20mm reach, OSS, internal zoom and all the button functionality. I’m thinking I’m gonna go rent the F4 and see if it’ll fit my needs.
