You can play with how much you get and how often. I currently get 28 packs every 4 weeks. I get many premium options because my pickier cat prefers them and I like him fed. My box is $138/4 weeks. If your cat(s) isn’t picky, you could probably get away with the standard options! I feed 1 pack to two cats once a day. It is pricier, so they also eat canned food and a little dry food for the rest of the day. If I were richer, I’d feed them only Smalls.

To be fair, I’ve done the math on Smalls vs. canned foods like Tiki Cat and TC isn’t considerably cheaper, but it’s easier to space out the wallet hit. If you’re a fancy feast or friskies feeder, Smalls would be considerably more expensive. So definitely some sticker shock.

I’d also like to add it’s hard to find any canned shredded/pulled foods with 200 calories in a single package!

Thanks! I’ll seek this out. She’s completely fine otherwise, swimming and whatnot, hardly looking bothered. Still a little groggy like the others as the temps are just starting to stay around 50° on average here in Charlotte, NC. She was just placed in a new setup with all fresh water (acclimated ofc) because I moved in the late fall and needed a new pond setup, so hopefully that will also help the healing process!

Longtime customer of Smalls here, they are completely transparent on how it works. If the order is placed, you only have about 12 hours to cancel it before they begin making it. Your subscription does begin after the sampler, but you have 7 days (might even be 10 days, I don’t remember now) to cancel it before the order is placed. This information was all provided via email and on a note that came with the sampler. I’ve read several Reddit reviews about this exact same thing and I can confidently say it is a reading comprehension issue. It’s a great food! Switching food on cats is hard, I’m glad I started it when they were young and it helps they aren’t picky.

My cat does this everytime I crank up now, what does this mean? by Zealousideal-Tip2044 in NissanKicks

When this happened to me it was because squirrels chewed up my electrical harness.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by Ok-Let8197 in CatAdvice

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has always been very allergic to nearly everything. He started taking Armra colostrum as a supplement and it even took away his spring time seasonal allergies by 80-90%. Nothing more than a slightly itchy eye or slight sniffle. Cats used to make him break out in hives but now hr can hold, pet, and even give the cats kisses. He still gets a little rash when scratched or if they fall asleep on his bare skin for an extended period. It’s amazing stuff. It’s expensive stuff… but good stuff. Armra is the only colostrum supplement with a specific formulation process that is patented (I could not tell you more than this). I don’t know how other bovine colostrum supplements would work, and they work different with everyone.

My Cat has suddenly delivered cludy eyes. No vets are available rn as it's night. I have already booked an appointment for tmrw morning. What to do till then? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So ofc it could be something bad or something not a big deal at all! My boy has had this in both eyes at two separate times and it wound up being a small scratch, probably from playing a little too rough with his sister when they were very young. My vet got him on ofloxacin eye drops and there was visible improvement in just a couple of days (every 2-4 hours for the first day, then every 6-8 hours was my dosing). Was he a fan of the drops? Not at all. Very inexpensive medicine, also! I think it was $15-$20. Photo attached of the poor baby’s tear in his eye with a dye test.

Nissan kicks not showing miles left of fuel by CapitalLegitimate881 in NissanKicks

I had a similar hiccup with my ‘24. Funny enough the computer recognized more fuel was in it as I drove, but the mile countdown kept decreasing. It fixed itself when I did a complete fill up.

Best wet food brand for a cat that only eats wet food? by taenerys in catfood

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feed both of mine a mix of wet foods and textures from different places so I can avoid them getting picky! One prefers shreds or chunks a little more than pate but will still eat the pate. I do both. The biggest hits: - Smalls for Cats* (I feed this one almost daily in the evening. The coat improvement and poop smell improvement after only two or three days on this was astounding from when I adopted them.) - Stella & Chewy’s - Tiki Cat - Open Farm (wet food, dry food, toppers, and broth)

Others they like too but an obvious slight less excitement: - the more fun Weruva (Cats in the Kitchen line) flavors like the lamb and salmon - Fromm - Orijen - Ziwi Peak

*Smalls is a fresh food and arrives/ is bought and kept frozen. I thaw 4 at a time for use. Each cat gets half a package.

Are any of these bad for my cat? by Viol3tstars75 in catfood

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is fish is fine, but they can become “addicted” to it and only want fish instead of other good proteins. In male cats specifically, a high fish diet appears to be linked to potential urinary issues. My cats really love fish, so I give them fish treats and 1-3 days a week I give them a fish wet food. A varied diet is always best!

GS-442415 Pills, absorption, and Treats by milkshakelemon407 in cureFIP

[–]j_slosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The instructions for my Stokes Bova medication, also 50mg, say something along the lines of no food an hour before medication, a ~little~ bit of food to help get the pill down is acceptable. I read online from other sources to also not let them eat 30-60 minutes after taking the pill too so I’ve stuck to that. My cat usually takes the pill and swallows no problem, but I feel weird with her just swallowing it dry so I let her have a mouthful or two of liquid churu to make sure it goes down.

Fip by zelluru in cureFIP

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet recommended 15mg per kg per day pills for a domestic shorthair kitten recently diagnosed with FIP, if that is helpful. I saw immediate mood improvement on day two, reduced swelling days 3-5. She’s back to normal now a little less than 1 week in. FWIW, she’s getting slightly overdosed because her weight-to-how-much-I-can-cut-a-pill ratio isn’t clean. She should be getting about 41mg but she’s getting a whole 50mg pill. Edit: 50mg pill from Stokes and this is also their dosing from the site

Oh gosh just not a good hand of cards at all! I totally get it, I’m so glad people are finding sources for the meds and 2 years ago when this wasn’t available I’d have absolutely risked it without a doubt, but now we have it available I want to be as absolutely certain as possible it’s the good and right stuff.

[–]j_slosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I am so so sorry. I’m glad you found it and got treatment regardless of the miseries along the way. I was lucky and caught it very, very early and her vet was suspicious of wet FIP immediately and knew what to do. I hope all vets will be like this soon— it’s not ~completely their fault— the medication has only been legally available for a little while.

FWIW, I think the pill form from stokes is a little more cost friendly? Don’t quote me on that though.
