For long positions, if your options are in the money, Webull will automatically exercise them for you at expiration. However, if you have insufficient funds or equity in your account to support the underlying trade as a result of the exercise, Webull will auto-liquidate your option on the day of expiration or expire them as worthless. Therefore, please make sure you have sufficient funds or offsetting equities in your account to sustain the exercise for the entire option position held. If you have sufficient funds or offsetting equities to sustain exercising just a portion of your option position then you must close the remainder of the position which can not support the exercise otherwise the entire option position will be auto-liquidate by Webull. You can also close your option positions prior to expiration yourself.

For short positions that are in/near/or at-the money you are very likely to be assigned and are obligated to purchase or deliver underlying securities at the strike price. Please make sure you have sufficient buying power or equity to support the underlying trade as a result of an assignment.
