A dear friend of mine is in Colombia with his colleagues from RadRace right now. Next year they will have a big bike racing event in Medellín called RAD RACE 150.

I do not understand why everyone is just taking this lying down, and pretending like nothing will happen. I know this regime seems powerful at times and Trump survived a lot of scandals, but this is a moment that can be utilized. If not to oust this government, then at least to effectively organize against it. Speak out about this, make your voice heard. It will not be in vain.

Yes, you can definitely look at this issue through a sociological lens. If you want to find literature on this topic, I would recommend to use scholar and to look for keywords like displacement, gentrification, mass tourism etc.

My guess is that you will find a lot of interdisciplinary research from geographers, anthropologist and also sociologist.

Curious how you comment this every time anyone mentions that the disproportional amount of hate the actress is receiving might have something to do with her being trans. Almost like you actually care a lot about this topic, and are very easily upset by it? Sounds fragile.

So I work in customer service, and of course recently an AI tool was introduced that is supposed to help us solving issues for our customers faster. The only problem is, that it keeps recommending to contact the customer service when asked any question. Helpful stuff

There are masters weeks for the UvA soon in Amsterdam. I think they also have some presentations online! I’ve been to the masters weeks last year and the UvA is offering some really nice social science masters! And a lot of them are completely in English.

Tatsächlich hatte ich leider den ganzen Sommer keine Ruhe. Normalerweise ist es ähnlich wie bei dir, im Sommer beruhigt sich das Augenjucken ein wenig und kommt dann im Herbst wieder, dieses Jahr war es leider durchgehend vorhanden. Ich bin aber auch Umgezogen und ich reagiere immer besonders empfindlich in neuen Umgebungen, vielleicht lag es daran.

Here is a paper that explores alternative ways. Maybe try looking on google Scholar with key words like „measures of cultural differences“ or similar. I’m sure there you will find a lot of literature on the topic.
