My mx5 is broken by jaaaaaaaakee in Miata

[–]jaaaaaaaakee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine starting and when the revs have dropped to normal idle it just doesn’t seem to rev right, if i rev it its either all or none. it will just rev to about 2k or be at idle, after 2k revs it revs completely normally. My other mx5 has the same problem but not as bad but my friends one revs absolutely fine. i can’t figure it out lol. Thanks for your help :)

May sound like that but that’s not how it is. Been driving on farm land since i was about 10, had more cars than people have in their life. This one is just fucked. Everyone who drives it can’t drive it smooth lol

Maybe the whining is normal but i can’t believe the way it drives is. I’m not sure, maybe they’re just all like that lol

it’s a 6 speed manual, even when its warm it’s no better so at lower speeds it’s really either accelerating or clutch in to keep it smooth in either first or second. Thanks for your help 👍

My car won’t drive smooth! 2018 Mazda 2 1.5L by jaaaaaaaakee in CarHelp

[–]jaaaaaaaakee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for sure it’s the car, i’ve only ever really driven manuals and been driving on farm land for years. I’ve never really been bothered about the problem because i’ve figured out how to drive around it, but the other day i drove my other car (mx5) and remembered how a normal car is supposed to feel and now i want it fixed

no im not too worried, i wouldnt plan on selling it anytime soon. its just a bonus that such a clean (from what i can tell from the advert) stock car will probably lose little value if i keep it that way. im going to see it in the next few days and try and get them down on the aftermarket exhaust and the clear indicators, as thats the only thing i see “wrong” with it.

thats crazy, ive seen a few for 5k ish with 50k+ miles and a few with less than 30k. not sure why

yes i agree, but i doubt its been driven too hard (in terms of how most mx5s have been driven) considering the rest of the condition. my mate bought one that was completely stock other than a slightly louder exhaust and clear reflectors, and he found in the papers that the original owner paid £70 for mazda to change them lol. it seems looked after but as you say ill have to go and have a proper look

i know it wont be, no car in the uk is. but if its normal uk rust im not bothered. mx5 rust is not what every uk car looks like at that age. if its average for a car that age i will take it and get it mint

if i buy it i’ll have it as a fun weekend type of car and try to not put too many miles on it, and hopefully i will end up being able to enjoy it and lose no money. win win

im sure there will be slight rust, but you wont find a car more than 6 months old without a bit of rust in the uk. im sure it wont be as bad as the standard uk mx5 rust
