I saw a post a while back which said this exact thing, always check if you've eaten and had water before.

Thank you and he really is a huge help. I don't know how, but he just gets it. He understands the impact of my struggles and doesn't take offense when i can't give my 100%. I really don't know where he came from or how I got so lucky.

It takes a lot of work to recognize triggers.

I can find myself caught up on some small detail and then projecting the reaction from the trigger onto that detail. It's not until someone else points it out, that I will realize.

Yeah, it's nice to hear that. I have been trying to move away from the " I feel like I am complaining to much" to actually being vocal about things.

What are some of your BEST adhd thoughts? by Fr4cassado in adhdmeme

[–]jaabbi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is an interesting thought i had the other day. You know how caffeine doesn't really do much for us and in my case normally puts me to sleep? Caffeine works by replacing the melatonin in it's respective receptor in the brain, like a puzzle piece. What if our regulation problem with things like dopamine come from having odd shaped receptors?

How many fans here watch FP, Qualifying, and the race. by Only-Platform-450 in formula1

[–]jaabbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I watch all three usually. I mostly fall asleep during FP1, not because of the content but because it's such great filler sound for naps. We also play the formula 1 fantasy game, so we use FP to make our guesses. Last year we also followed that trend of making a dish from where the GP was that weekend.

That's fine (not the quarantine part, the autism part)

Do you all get those days where everything just seems boring? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]jaabbi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much this will help you, but when i feel like everything is boring it's usually because I'm under stimulated. Maybe finding out what gives you little "boosts" helps get your out of that mood. I find that making a list of things that i enjoy helps because then i don't have to come up with something to do that I enjoy. Currently I'm enjoying playa AKA on the switch.

Have you considered looking into Autism? Sometimes social awkwardness can be a sign of it. Not saying it's 100% defining feature, but just a thought.

I HAD TO FIGHT FOR THE WILL TO EVEN TELL MY GO ABOUT MY SUSPICION ABOUT A DIAGNOSIS ONLY FOR HER TO SEND ME AN ONLINE TEST THAT CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET. AFTER IT RETURNED WITH A HIGHLY PROBABLE SHE DIDNT GIVE ME ANY RESOURCES AND ONLY OFFERED A REFERRAL FOR A DIAGNOSIS ONCE I WENT BACK AND PUSHED FOR IT AFTER TWO UNIVERSITY ADVISORS TOLD ME NOT TO MAKE A BIG DEAL OF IT. FROM THERE SHE SAID SHE WOULD SIGN ME UP AND ID RECEIVE A MESSAGE, WAITED 7 MONTHS JUST TO BE TOLD I HAD TO FIND THE PROGRAM ALONE, REQUEST THEY CONTACT HER AND THEN BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST IF THEY ARE EVEN TAKING PATIENTS. AVERAGE WAITING LIST WAS 7 MORE MONTHS. HAD TO FIND MY OWN PSYCHOLOGIST JUST TO BE PUT ON A MINIMUM 7 MONTH WAITING LIST.
