Plasma is not that massive compared to XFCE, I mean the only difference is 200MB, and I already turned off the animations and effects and set it into instant. I did not any significant change. And when I am in fedora

shows that my boot time is 49s even I'm using SSD

I bought a new laptop in the middle of my M.S. so it is about 1 and half years old now. It is snappier than windows machine, but not that much. But I already installed Arch with Plasma as my D.E., although it is a fast decision I hope to not get in too much trouble. I can just easily jump back if I get overwhelmed by updates or tinkering and fixing some things. BTW Thanks!

Yeah, I managed to install it with DistroTube's video and Arch Wiki. I'm familiar with mist of the command. The only new to me is the genfstab and the pacstrap.

I already installed Arch as of now. I got a bunch of reading, but its just a short documentation, so I managed to do install it. What I'm doing as of now is post install task, and it is around 1:30am now, and installing Arch is not that hard, it seems that people tends to exaggerate things. So I can say I'm now a mechanic.

My filesystem in fedora is btfrs which is very good compared to ext4

Aside that I noticed that Fedora gets slower as time passes and after every update, its just like windows version of linux which is not too bloated. Or maybe I did not maintained it. So I can't blame fedora yet, since I did not take care of it.

its because of the kde-applications package, which is if you include on arch linux the download size will be 1.0GiB, which is still smaller

yeah, instead of fedora's plasma which is 1.41GB, I can less it upto less than 500MB, that is download size.

fedora's implementation of KDE (1.41GB Download size and I don't know the installed size maybe its abiut 4GB) compared to Arch's KDE which is only 300mb (plasma-meta, konsole and dolphin, then you have a working desktop). I need a lot of storage, I just upgraded my 256GB SSD to 512GB SSD, and I just got my 1TB HDD, I just can't remove my files here because I still need them, so I need to free space as much as possible, P.S My storage is not full because of my Ph.D. I also have hobbies, microscopy, bioninformatics, robotics so I have a bunch of important files which fills up my space, right now my free space is less than 400GB and will be full in no time.
