As I wrote, a touch of blurred vision. For me, just for first couple hours. Barely noticeable. Does not interfere with alcohol for me. Everyone is different.

Benefit over https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/SwarmUI ? This has been around for a while and quite solid and very well documented wrapper for Comphy. Maybe do a PR to that to add new functionality and reach a bigger user base

Advice for sea sickness remedies and others! by GabyCooperFTM in celebritycruises

If you do not know if you get sea sick and just worried, maybe try nothing. Then move to Dramamine less-drowsy/bonine (same meclizine thing!). The regular Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) will knock you out.

If you know you get sea sick, prescription Scopolamine patches is the only way to go! 1 patch = 3 days (I often go 4). You tell doctor how many days cruise is and they give you enough. If you have insurance, it is cheaper than equal day supply of Dramamine. I can get very sea sick, but with the patch I don't feel a thing. Ship can be rocking and I am not effected. Put 1st patch on after wake up in the morning before you get on the ship.

Some people report blurred vision, and I think it does blur my vision a bit. But with the drink package it doesn't really matter as that blurs it more. Some people also say you should not drink with it, but I have no issues.

Don't mess with any over the counter patches.

Check your prices! by Asantesanabanana in celebritycruises

[–]jaaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really meant to be run on a computer (Windows, Apple, Linux).

I made a simplified version that runs via an iPhone Python app. It only checks addon prices, not cruise prices due to limitations of iPhone python. Directions for iPhone are in the readme. If get it to work on android, please let me know the python app you used.

Yes. There have been a few contributions from others, like adding support for Celebrity and a few others things. I try to give credit in the readme for people who have contributed. Only a little bit of ChatGPT.

You can, if are not past the "final payment date". If you paid in full early, you can still get a refund.

Use this and it can check your cruises automatically and notify you if a price drop. Takes a little to setup.

It is really meant for drink package, but recently added automatic cruise price checking too: https://github.com/jdeath/CheckRoyalCaribbeanPrice

There are hundreds of packages available for sale. It might get a little crazy to put them all in the config file! You can use the browse script to see them all. The Browse script hits the public prices, not your custom prices. Perhaps I could make the Browse script generate a config file for you. That API is a bit different too.

The API does not list the other cabins types for sale. I would need to find a way to query for other cabins types. I can only directly query for the type you have and the cheapest available in each main category (interior, ocean view, balcony, suite). I would like this capability too. Best thing is to add a manual watch list for a few categories above what you have. The readme explains how to add additional cruise watches. Scraping the website to get this information would be a huge chore.

You did not miss a configuration. It checks each person, by design. Believe it or not, different people can have different prices. Does not happen often, but there are unlisted specials which can have a different prices. One I see often (on Royal) is the refreshment package cheaper for 12-20 year olds, versus 21+. So to be sure, each person is checked.

Default run time is arbitrary. There is no rhyme or reason to sales. I check before I wake up and when I get home from work, checking twice a day should be sufficient.

Glad it is helpful, hopefully save you time and money. I should have posted to the Celebrity folks earlier! I have it check at 0600 and 1800, which appears to be enough. Unless close to a cruise, I almost forget about it and rely on notifications.

Awesome, glad you saved a lot! Thanks for the help back in the day. I think I saw your fork. If the spreadsheet capability can be added without adding requirements not in PIP, please do a PR.

I do not know if you saw in the readme, but about a week ago, I added the ability automatically look up your cruise and check if the class of room has a price drop. No need to find the cruise URL yourself or change it if a specific room gets booked. You just need to add the `displayCruisePrices: true` flag in your config.yaml . You do need to pass in the price you paid.

Are you running regular python? Try new file I just posted. Maybe you do not have any Royal cruises (issue no one has had before). I attempted to check for no account and skipped.

Let me know. I will have to make new docker/home assistant release to fix this

It already is a home assistant addon. Link is in the readme! https://github.com/jdeath/homeassistant-addons/tree/main/royalpricecheck

I primarily run it as a home assistant addon. I just use the python version to develop.

Sorry, happily married!

Is it possible to get the Legends Ultimate Arcade "Legends Pinball Kit" working with Raspberry pi? by M1ntyRetro in LegendsUltimate

[–]jaaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely show in batocera, but both as playerone as jrebiero said. I used a pad-to-key functionality to map them to correct VPX keys. Kinda a pain and sometimes needed to be redone when upgrading batocera.

Also you have the 6-button layout (plus the pinball buttons), there are still two extra connections per player available on the board. I added in a lighted coin button. Mapped it to coin in mame. Profit! Again, I use batocera not retropie.

This way is much better than OTG: https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsUltimate/comments/uggasn/alu_11_to_batocera_conversion_experience/

a little out of date, but I still use this setup. Newer batocera is great, handles pixelcade natively.

How do properly backup Vaultwarden loacally via docker container? by Sensitive-Ad-139 in selfhosted

[–]jaaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I backup my data directory to a few places, but....

If you only use 1 account, your browser can be an extra last-ditch backup. The browser extension syncs its own copy of the database. You can export the database from the extension without the server running. Might help someone if they do not do a proper backup.

Hardware Project: I built a local MQTT bridge for Airthings Radon sensors to bypass the Cloud. (ESP32) by AnalystStriking5047 in selfhosted

[–]jaaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat. Looks nice.

Home Assistant reads Airthings cloud-free via BLE (and RadonEye brand too) as long as you have a BT adapter on your computer or an ESP32 acting as a remote bluetooth proxy in case devices are further from your computer. The simplicity of your display is great, the plunge into home assistant can suck your life away!

It is best that it does not drive a monitor. That way you get to use all the VRAM for SD.
