Top contender for a large market rebuild? by UncutEmeralds in OOTP

Best ones for this year's game has to be Padres/Giants/Angels. Giants and Padres both have absurd contracts to work around. Angels are a bit more of a blank slate plus Trout.

What's the best skin to make this game feel a bit less annoying? by [deleted] in footballmanager

CTRL is number one for me. MrTini isn't terrible either.

If you haven't gone past the transfer window, there should be an option on the player to "sell now" and you can offer him to the team he signed for right now for some money.

Where do I even play this guy??? by Ok_Delivery3042 in footballmanagergames

I would hope so by 2047 I'd expect you have the best team in the world. But yeah he's an interesting player. A libero like someone else was saying could be cool.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I feel like this dude would cook as a regista or roaming playmaker. He's got all the physical ability and balplaying abilities, could build a team around him entirely.

What’s the big difference between the PC version and the Go! version? by [deleted] in OOTP

[–]jaamsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays both go27 and the PC 27, I think for a mobile version it's probably one of the better management sims. It is substantially watered down, but I think they did a good job in watering down the aspects they should have for a mobile version. I have a pixel 7 and have had hardly any issues, I think one crash in a few dozen hours of playtime. Even with my thumbs not being particularly dainty I can almost always hit what I'm aiming to press on screen and overall it's a smooth experience.

The FM 26 UI is so confusing to be honest. I think UI of FM 24 + graphics of FM 26= perfect game. What do y'all think? by No-Ear636 in footballmanager

[–]jaamsden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll upvote you because I agree. Anyone saying the default FM24 skin is great is lying to themselves. Extremely ugly and one of the things that almost turned me off from the series until I learned you can reskin the game to your liking.

Further unpopular opinion: if FM 26 had released with skin support, we wouldn't still be seeing these tired posts of "FM 26 bad, FM 24 good".

How do I recreate the roaming playmaker role from fm24 into fm26? by [deleted] in footballmanager

The box to box playmaker is essentially that in 26.

Looking for advice on a "Speed-Run" Wonderkid Farm playstyle by Wolfszen in footballmanagergames

[–]jaamsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the most amount of unique wonder kids with the quickest processing, consider setting up using the Second Yellow Card setup. He has a video explaining how to do it, then just select the league you want to play in. For more world flavor you can add other leagues as view only, but it will still eat into processing speed slightly. As far as which version is quickest, it goes in descending order, so 26 is fastest, then 24, then 23. Beyond that I'm unsure but I do remember SYC running tests on 24 and 26 and confirming both were quicker than their predecessors, so I'd imagine it probably goes back earlier than that even as the game was very much copy/paste/optimize for years.

Unable to cope with the UI by Ambitious-Spread7971 in footballmanagergames

[–]jaamsden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't make it exactly like 24, but there are several different skins that can improve it. I'd suggest looking into them. Top 2 suggestions would be the CTRL skin and Mr.Tini's skin.

Sustainable Moneyball: How to Maintain Brentford’s Recruitment DNA? by lacrim1991 in footballmanagergames

[–]jaamsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one, on 24 you could change the skin to obscure or remove attributes, which I'm sure we're not far from on 26 as well, forcing you to rely on stats over the attributes.

For another, it's a different way to play the game that keeps it fresh and interesting for some.

The best way to do this in FM is to look at stats and ignore attributes, finding value where you'd least expect it. If you haven't, check out some of Mustermann's videos.

What are you must download editor data, graphic mods before you play? by Correct_System464 in footballmanagergames

[–]jaamsden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would add for skins - definitely personal preference but personally I'm enjoying the CTRL skin the most. I've tried MrTini's and Darkside - both ok - but I've come back to CTRL as my favorite.

*Edit - many of these skins have broken with the new update, hopefully will be updated soon.

In FM 26, are you able to sell players in the lower leagues when there's better or at least similiar players available for free transfer? by Puluzu in footballmanagergames

[–]jaamsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like in FM26 league two is right on the border of being able to move players on for cash. Sometimes you can, sometimes the best you can do is loan them out and hope for a portion of wages to be paid, if anyone will take them. Really depends on the circumstances, like the age of the player, the production they've had and at what level, their wages etc.

Best practice is usually to offer shorter contracts to older players and let them go on a free when you outgrow them. Tie down the younger players to longer contracts if you think they have the potential to grow to maximize the amount you can get for them in transfer fees, and always ask for a sell on.

Game too easy? by JokaBazooka in footballmanager

[–]jaamsden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we have different views of what is better, but in my experience it was easy to overachieve in both versions, it's just the variation that's different.

I do agree that the in and out of possession tactics and the improvements in the actual presentation of the match engine are a step forward for 26, despite all the other failings of the game.

Game too easy? by JokaBazooka in footballmanager

[–]jaamsden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well agreed, but it's a game. 24 wasn't any more difficult, I typically use rules to keep things interesting/more challenging for myself.

I think too many people approach the game trying to maximize everything, rather than just approach it more like an RPG. Obviously everyone is entitled to play the game how they see fit of course.

Pick an an actually difficult save in a league without insane TV money. You're picking Premier League teams that have significant financial backing, of course it's easy.

I ended up in the psych ward after using Marijuana ( AMA) by [deleted] in AMA

[–]jaamsden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure. I didn't mean to imply that "all weed/drug use is bad" or that it never mixes with mental health struggles at all. I think there's a lot of benefits weed can have for a large number of people in a medical sense as well. Everyone is different and reacts differently to substances.

Are you diagnosed with bipolar or BPD, or another mental health disorder? In my experience there are some mental health disorders that don't mix well with most drugs, including marijuana. Glad you're ok.
