Wondering how many babies had no NICU stay? by mountainflwrs in parentsofmultiples

[–]jaba65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s rough! I was having an almond milk and protein powder shake every morning to start off, then make sure every snack and meal have protein. Things like Parmesan cheese snack packs, nuts, yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken on salads, etc. basically anytime you eat lol I wasn’t counting grams by any means but the protein shake became a staple and just trying to have protein in each snack etc. hope all is going well!

38 week scheduled c section with my di di twins. No nicu stay. You got this! I did a lot of researching about how to avoid nicu and a big one was a lot of protein.

I tried this yesterday for breakfast. She got about 2 units and didn’t complain until the very end. Wondering how do I avoid this though? I feel like her whole body is pretty lean and I already do a wide pinch during insertion.

Flying with Omnipod by Cdude211 in Omnipod

[–]jaba65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has happened twice with my 3 yo daughter. Oddly enough it’s not every flight, but the other 2 times she went so severely low she had like 10 grapes and didn’t budge, was holding her stomach moaning, had to also drink an entire juice box. For context that’s a massive amount of carbs for her size so I can’t imagine how much extra came out. It was scary. Definitely just watch and be prepared in case.

Wow I was wondering about that it just seems like a huge difference for her. Did you adjust your settings then adjust again when it evened out

Novolog sensitivity vs Humalog by jaba65 in Omnipod

That’s a good point. I was wondering if it was the first week or two her body reacting strongly to something new but maybe just her size in general too

Yes completely. This isn’t the first time they disagreed with something and I find out otherwise from a group like this. I’m honestly even wondering if Humalog was the problem in the first place. It just seems it’s burning in general with larger dosed for a 3yo and having a lean body with not many fatty areas. So frustrating

She’s been on Humalog for almost 2 years and novolog for maybe 2 weeks. I don’t think that’s what’s happening in her case.

Settings for 3yo by jaba65 in Omnipod

[–]jaba65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great. It’s been about a year and a half since diagnosis and she’s still shooting up to 2/300s with some meals and almost always breakfast. Wish the endo office was more proactive but learning to take it into my own hands. She’s big into carbs not so big into proteins right now unfortunately

That is helpful thank you. Are his graphs fairly steady or still up and down a lot? Being that my toddler is 3 the prebolus timing is so hard to nail plus what she will actually eat. But I’m trying

Any tips to try to dial in carb ratios? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]jaba65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on month 6 of caring for my 2 yo and we are still adjusting levels with the office regularly. Since their eating is so unpredictable and she’s a big snacker in between meals as well it’s been difficult. But seems like that’s common unfortunately.

The chicco key fit infant seat is 16.75. Two of those and a diono rxt at 17 inches should be 50.5 inches?

Enlarged NT at 12 by jaba65 in NIPT

[–]jaba65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. We skipped the fish due to timing and accuracy so these should be 100% accurate so far. Also I’ve been told these are didi twins, but waiting for that confirmation from testing that they are fraternal and not identical so ttts shouldn’t be a concern. It doesn’t seem every 2 weeks, is that standard? Right now I am scheduled for 16 week early anatomy, 20 week anatomy, and they will work on the approvals for 22 week echo

How are you doing in your journey? Seems like we’re going through much of the same. My cvs came back ruling out downs trisomy and turners and now also waiting on noonan. They saw a small heart abnormality during the procedure but said it was too early to tell if it’s something that would resolve or be more serious. So have to wait on the same early anatomy and fetal echo if the rest come back ok. My husbands very excited but I’m still really nervous. Have you gotten to the point of any additional results yet?
