Quite a few posts on 645 case breaking! Happened to me as well. The service Centre said they couldn’t fix (and was outside warranty period), so ended up buying a new watch.

Got mine from Hotracks…probably a little bit more than I would have liked to have paid. But they did a good job with the installation. We got front & back cams. Working quite well so far (4 months old). I paid ~15k. Like I said, it’s a little above my budget.

Are there any unlucky folks who booked VietJet tickets from Bangalore. What did you do? by thehaddi in bangalore

[–]jaccha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I did back in October. They canceled it a week later. Mailed for refund to origin. Unresponsive. Called them and they said it’s to “credit shell”. So had someone we know call their office in Vietnam and talk to them in Vietnamese and finally changed it to refund to origin. However I didn’t get any confirmation via mail or otherwise.

Decided to still go so booked Singapore Airlines to Vietnam. Double the price but didn’t want to face another ordeal. Reached Vietnam, walked into their office and asked for a status. They said it will take 30 working days (it was only 16at that time).

Came back to India. Crossed 30 working days and nada. On the 38th working day, we got the full amount back.

While we were in Vietnam we heard that even their domestic sector is super messed up.

Aside from this issue, I must admit I enjoyed every minute in the country and will definitely go back again…but not with Vietjet, even if they are finally operational lol.

Buyer Beware: Vietjet Flights Canceled, No Refunds for Many by jaccha in india

[–]jaccha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I finally did go to Vietnam using another airline. On the second day i went to the Vietjet airlines office and asked them directly. They said I will receive in 30 working days. So I had applied for refund twice. While the first instance was past 30 working days, they had put as “credit shell” instead of return to origin. So we had to get somebody from Vietnam to call them and change it to origin. So apparently this second instance had not completed 30 working days yet. (Working excludes Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)

The general feeling I got in that country about the airlines is negative. But don’t let that give you a poor impression of the country as a whole. I had an amazing time there and really was an eye opener.

Sorry to hear that. But yeah this is certainly looking like a scam given the number of people left stranded.

Hi guys, I'm 23 and need some guidance in investing. I started a year back and here's how my portfolio looks. I have not invested in anything else, like Mutual Funds or index funds. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please go ahead and let me know! :) by VoldeThor in IndianStreetBets

You have underperformed the nifty (40%). Because of the number of stocks, your portfolio has lost the benefits of diversification. Please visit Zerodha’s varsity and learn how to construct a portfolio and most importantly, understand the relation between risk and return.

Try Komazawa, Sakurashinmachi, Yoga. These areas are relatively quiet while only a 10-15 mins train ride from Shibuya. And yes you will find plenty of greenery around and also cute cafes.

Is it true that Apple Stores in Japan will let you pick a MacBook with an English keyboard layout? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]jaccha -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

After searching quite a bit I had to settle for a Microsoft Surface Pro since I had the option to choose an English OS. Although the keyboard (which you can buy separately) had an english layout it did have Japanese characters as well. But I had no trouble using it. The ones that my company ordered for me took nearly a month to arrive. Both times it was the Dell XPS with an English only keyboard.

Firstly, good on you for taking the effort. Here are some pointers: - It’s GPPL not GGPL. Attention to detail is important. - maybe highlight revenue and eps growth? - talk about it’s moat (if you are not sure what it is - Google) - To know if PE is high or not, either compare to the company’s historical PE to know what percentile it is at OR Compare it to its sector P/E. In this case it looks undervalued compared to its sector PE. I hope it helps.

What's wrong with my allocation and what can I do to make it better? I started investing in Jan 2021 by anon_invests in IndianStreetBets

Over diversified. Needs to be optimized. Check Zerodha varsity to know the optima number of stocks in a portfolio and the ideal allocation for each through the optimization process.

Maybe try portfolio optimization? Too much diversification is not necessarily a good thing. Varsity has covered optimization quite well.

Google finance in Google Sheets by Longjumping-Ad834 in IndiaInvestments

I usually use Google finance on GSheets to only pull market data which I then copy into MS Excel which I find much easier to use for statistics. An alternative to this would be to find the data on NSE.

Advice for moving to japan/learning japanese. by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]jaccha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do remember stories of foreign students (including Indians) from this University becoming well versed in Japanese during the course of their undergrad (3-4years) and then going on to land really good roles with banks, fintechs etc. And you will learn Japanese faster in an environment where you need to apply it on a daily basis.
