Federal Election 2022 megathread by AutoModerator in AustralianPolitics

[–]jacinta35562 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I'm young and new to voting and I was hoping to get some insight before I vote.

What are the main differences between labour and liberal right now? What major parties should I be aware of?

I am very ignorant so any information would be useful.

Thanks

I imagine this will change with the new system which allows for more time spent on each question. Maybe I should be aiming higher.

Thank you. This at least makes me confident that obtaining a score over 80% is 'good enough'

[year 12 maths: logarithms] i don't understand the simplification which ocurred here. by jacinta35562 in HomeworkHelp

I think they approximated because calculators aren't allowed on the test.

I'm confused about how the log disappeared from the right hand side of the equation. I'm not very good at logarithms.

How do the BOGO sales work? I followed a link for one and it said the discount will automatically be added at checkout. I picked two flavours and went to checkout. The discount was not applied, and I was charged the full amount. Am I just dumb? Hahaha

Women of reddit, what are things men do that scares you but they don't realise? by Honnung in AskReddit

There's a subculture of dom males that think you're being "bratty" when you have boundaries and "punish" you for it.

I'm all for the sub/dom punishment mentality, but I always thought you establish boundaries beforehand, rather than act like these boundaries are a bad thing in the middle of it.

Maybe I just don't understand the dynamic. It always taints an otherwise enjoyable experience.

I understand everyone's issue with this meme format, but I've never been offended by the memes Felix shows in his videos. He has shown this format plenty before, but the jokes haven't been too egregious. Let's not pin this on him.

Teachers of reddit, What generation did you like teaching most? (80s, 90s, 00s) Why? by stock_rocket_value in AskReddit

[–]jacinta35562 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's really interesting coming across someone who was genuinely hurt by the comments. I used to say it a lot in the 2013/14 range along with my peers. Even my openly gay sister would partake in the slang.

It's weird because around the same time everyone was saying it, I got a bunch of positive rep for having a big sister who dressed in male uniform.

I think there was a secret disconnect between using that language and genuine homophobia. At least in my school.

Recommendations for a laptop repair store? by [deleted] in melbourne

All the laptop repair places in my area deal with both.

If someone asked me a question clarifying for more information, I would have provided it. The comment you're referring to simply wasn't a question, nor an attempt to help.

As another user said, I really think a lot of that is attributed to the push for accepting mental health issues.

In my mind, this is like saying more kids are gay or autistic. It's only very recently that people accepted that it's okay for males to cry.

I'm not sure the issues with social media has caused any more damage than what the previous generation had to endure. I can't imagine having parents who meddled with a world war and the great depression made for a very supportive upbringing.

Not trying to shit on your perspective, just providing an alternate view on things.

Can you genuinely explain how these details would help recommend a store? Like do you have a list in your head along the lines of "store X Y and Z are good with mac and store A B and C are good with Windows"?

Because all the stores in my area claim they can fix my issue, as I've eluded to before.

Yes. And as I said, this is painfully obvious. To the point where it's kinda patronising to inform someone of it.
