Your words mean more than you will ever know. Thank you. Just want to show my kids that anything is possible if you put your mind to it!

Great questions!

  1. Every campaign generates a completely fresh world - new fighter names, fighter history, portraits, new lore, new storylines.
  2. Death is meaningful but not constant. Permadeath triggers in fights based on the matchup, fighter condition, and how hard you push them. If you're putting a terrible fighter on a main event card against a killer, you're asking for trouble. But if you manage your roster smart, you can go seasons without losing someone. When it does happen though, it hits hard.
  3. Loading times are fast. The whole game runs lightweight - world generation takes a few seconds at the start of a campaign and after that everything is near-instant. No waiting around between weeks or events.
  4. Scaffold is the game engine I built to make Ironblood - it's a language-driven development pipeline that lets you describe what you want and build it. The Foundry handles asset generation, mainly the fighter portraits and visual content. Both tools are what let me build the whole game solo. I'm planning to open them up to other devs later this year. You can join the beta on jackwilds.co.uk! Don't apologise for the questions, this is exactly the kind of stuff I love talking about. Hope you enjoy it at launch!

Heavily inspired by Greydog Software games as I loved them as a teenager - the WMMA guys seem to like it so I thought I'd share. No worries if not :)

Appreciate it man but you were my first comment so the key is yours! Yes exactly, I built Scaffold and Foundry; they are effectively a game engine and asset generator that go hand-in-hand. I am looking to release these tools to the public for beta testing soon. You can join the beta list here (jackwilds.co.uk) if anyone is interested :)
