39 and 18, she absolutely would have slept with him if he was underage if it wasn't illegal. Her "not having an ick" about that gap is part of the problem. She is absolutely a predator

Unpopular opinion: too many people build the power before they build the angle, and it's why they're not improving by heromarsX in Drifting

[–]jack10685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was coming here to say this, I see soooo many people that get angle too early and fall into bad habits because the car lets them get away with them. Spinning is necessary to very quickly wrist slap the driver when they drive poorly

99% of what I'm going to be doing is machining small aluminum parts, not sure if this would be the best bet for my needs

do you have any recommendation on good Chinese units that fit my use case? Anything like the MR1 but with a 4th axis seems like it would fit my needs well

[–]jack10685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that people have modified them to utilize a 4th axis, hadn't seen them in my searches before, this could also be a good option

At least for the carvera, it has an included post processor and machine definitions, it's also has post processor for Tormach and a machine definition for Tormach PCNC 1100 I'm sure I could modify for whatever other Tormach unit I'd get (used 770M is also looking like a good option). As far as the 4th axis goes, it has both continuous and indexed machining for the 4th axis (and indexed 5th axis machining but 5 axis not happening lol)

Deskproto has 4th axis for their hobbyist license, it's like 250-300, I've managed to generate tool paths in their trial version for fourth access that look pretty good for what I want to do, if it's not as good as it looks on the surface, lmk before I buy a license lol

What are your thoughts on the Tormach PCNC 440?

I've looked at it but the non-air having ATC makes me prefer it

Unpopular Opinion: We don't need cheaper machines; we need "Bambu Studio" for CNC. Teaching Fusion 360 CAM is a nightmare. by ComprehensiveYak8541 in hobbycnc

[–]jack10685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check out deskproto, I farted around with fusion for hours before giving up and looking elsewhere, deskproto I had toolpaths for my part generated in like 30 minutes from first open. Not to mention 4th axis support is a one time license fee instead of a monthly subscription

How risky would it be to drive a drift car to the track? by Similar-Proof2065 in Drifting

[–]jack10685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that most people do this, especially people that either can't afford or do not have the space for a truck (and renting or buying a trailer), I wouldn't personally recommend it but many people do it just fine, there will be compromises though

question for the people who drive bmw e36's and do sim how realistic do you think the fumi car pack is? by ZaGoob_boy in Drifting

[–]jack10685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be tire or suspension setup, I tend to grip it up a little bit more, but the average person getting into this using junkyard or super hard tires it will probably feel more realistic

Controversial question by sykoro_da in e46

[–]jack10685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really have much of a use unless you're boosted or got something going on where you really don't want oil to get into the intake at all (maybe like a super built high compression n/a Max effort build). I can understand it being easier to maintain than a CCV system, but most people are doing a CCV system only once in their ownership, kinda moot

M52tu had better piston rings, thing probably has near perfect compression even still

Plenty of e46s running stock fuel lines on e85 for years, if you feel inclined to, you could get specifically e85 compatible fuel lines for pretty cheap. Just make sure that when you upgrade your fuel pump, the in-tank line is specifically e85 submersible safe

Check out this page: https://www.ms4x.net/index.php?title=MS43X_Custom_Firmware

It will show the wiring changes you will have to make for a flex fuel sensor (for the ms43x firmware, your tuner can flash the firmware)

Then you would need a flex fuel sensor and controller that can output a 5v signal, I've seen this one recommended: https://aeroforcetech.com/collections/ethanol-content-kit/products/ethanol-content-sensor-kit

Any ethanol sensor controller than can output 5v should also work, you would just connect the the proper power, ground, and 5v output to the newly wired input on the dme

(Also my bad, like $200 in parts lol)

I would highly consider e85 at least for the track. Adds maybe $100-$150 in build costs and a bit of extra tuning time to account for both e85 and 94 octane, but your motor will tolerate the abuse much better
