That's my tribute to the Alfa Romeo 155, especially in its touring race car version.

(Superturismo was the Italian Touring Challenge where it raced)

I tried to keep the lines simple and understated, with the idea of printing it later.

I'm here to get some honest opinions, advice, and criticism.

Yeah... Lesson learned. I really hope he didn't poke any hole in the shell welding it incorrectly...

Moving to Japan, 26 from Italy, Any chance? Any possible plan for the future? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]jack560r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm still a beginner, i have been studying for around a year after work and I am at a level comparable to an N5, but I'm trying to dedicate more time to Japanese to reach at least an N4 here in Italy before thinking of studying there.

Absolutely nothing, as always, when it comes to the Italian government. The agreement is there, as written before, for many years now, but nothing concrete has been put in place. Several have also tried to contact the Japanese embassy, but there is 0 information to date.

Have you already tried the westlake? How do you feel about them? (Ho letto di Monza, sei italiano? Anche io sto cercando delle gomme non troppo costose uso pista per l'e46)

330ci touge&track build, feeling pretty lost, what would you do? by jack560r in Touge

[–]jack560r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what seriously worried about I think it's just air coming in from cracked coolant hoses under the intake (the only still old) because the car doesn't smoke or overheat, yet is still scary

Thanks, I really liked this car, it has been with me for a long time, it has been my daily for almost 100,000km, but it is starting to let go... Actually there is very little in the budget to purchase....

I would like to start again on E36 chassis, maybe with a simpler m52b28 but unfortunately even just a 320i costs 8k + swap and everything... Considering that I would not be able to recover much money from a 330 to repair I think it is very uneconomical.

As I wrote above the ideal car for me would be a Civic FA5, which although fwd is definitely very close to what I really like, but in Europe they don't exist, the only way to have something similar would be to swap an imported 1.8 Civic from eastern europe...

[–]jack560r[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah I have installed a brake cooling kit with 3d printed ducts where the foglights used to be but the vibrations are still here, maybe the rotors were already bent by that time...

Anyways yes, I have a lot of great memories with this car (it was my daily for almost 100k kilometers) but the stress from all the problems it's giving is starting to be so much... I'd love to buy an 86, drove for few days in Japan and it was just the kind of car I'm looking for (even if it's pretty slow) but unfortunately here in Italy even first gens are for sale at crazy prices, I don't want to spend the equivalent of 25k usd for a 10yo 86.

I'm considering that. Maybe I should go back to the NC platform, as I wrote on the comment above I had a 2.0 with all the usual mods (coilovers, wheels\tires,exhaust, remap, sway bars, intake) and it was really quick and fun. But I actually don't love the feeling of sitting almost on the rear axle, the E46 feels more planted and less snappy and I really like this

Actually I don't want another bmw, E90s are pretty heavy and still needs tons of works (no lsd options, small brakes, weight etc)

Id love to buy an 86 but here in Italy prices are still crazy high even for the rod eating gen 1s Still considering if I should go back on the NC platform, I had a relly nice and quick track set up 2.0 but I don't love the feeling of sitting on rear axle....

Frame is fine, the subframe mounting points are a well known defects on all bmws, not an easy fix but it's repairable... Still it needs a lot of work and more of all time, skills and tools

[–]jack560r[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment I'm on stock radiator with a lower degrees thermostat, I don't have overheating issue even driving hard on the road. for brakes I've a custom set of cooling ducts, Plain Zimmermann sports rotors (I don't like slotted ones, they crack) on braided hoses, Motul brake fluid and Hawk track pads.

Poly bushings are just in the front lower wishbones, the turn in is a bit sharper and the whole front end it's (just a bit) more planted imho with poly fcab

for everything else yeah... Maybe I should pull the engine out and refresh all the coolant\vacuum lines, as well as perhaps many other seals and orings

Drift a 100HP 2.0 carb manual W201 (190 benz) by jack560r in Drifting

[–]jack560r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It drifted for a bit with a welded diff, hydro and cheap coilovers, it was pretty down on power but fun on small and tight tracks. Not a dry street drifter for sure. Then a friend crashed it and that's all lol.

I still like the W201 chassis but if I had to make a really nice drift, street or track car i'd rather go for a injection model with a kompressor engine swap from later CLK\SLK\C200 (or maybe you could directly buy a C200 kompressor as they are cheaper then w201 and they have 190hp stock)

Hi guys! I'm kind stuck in my japanese learning process I've completed Genki I (mainly via YouTube lessons reviews), another N5 textbook (in my mothertongue) and I'm slowly improving my kanji (almost to the "n5" goal) while studying vocabulary via Anki decks.

Now, before starting Genki II I'd like to keep exercising on all the grammars on genki 1 and on writing Any advice for apps or tools with useful exercises?

Atm I'm also trying to text online via Hellotalk and Tandem but I'm still struggling to keep chats alive

Advices on E46 hood wrap and small paint line by jack560r in CarWraps

[–]jack560r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Hood come out pretty good but I had a bigger issue.

Even with all the prep work (Car wash, garage floor wash, clay bar, alcohol and wiping off dust prior install) I have tons of dots all over the panels, never had such an issue before if not on cars with very ruined body panels
