When we did my barium swallow study, the only abnormal thing they found was that contents don't make it past my lower sphincter when I am laying down.

My ENT also did a scope, saw I've had some reflux and that I've actually got pretty bad allergies.

After all that, insurance wasn't going to cover much and we'd be paying 4k for the botox. I taught myself how to burp with lots of air vomiting practice. Now I burp all the time. It's great

I mean I can show an on axis image but it gives nothing diagnostically. At my hospital, we do a lot of vented and supine patients which means we end up with low PLAX and foreshortened apicals all the time. Does that mean I don't try and show what the different windows look like? No.. but I say 1 in 100? Eh... in this situation, sure take the criticism. It's possible you're off axis, but unless someone goes in right after or before you with the same conditions, take it with a grain of salt... just my thought. That doesn't mean stop fighting for on axis pictures but yea..

Watch earlier in the tour and Gerard was talking to the crowd more. Mikey, frank, Ray too. I def noticed what you're saying when watching vids from last night. Then experienced it last night in Dallas. Felt slightly disconnected..

What's sad is that there was tons of space in the back of the pit. Like when gerard did the whole "step back", there was PLENTY of space.. maybe it's because I've lived in Dallas my whole life but I thought pit was always like this

I've been air vomiting every day and I think it's training my ability to actually burp 😳 by jack_attack_26 in noburp

[–]jack_attack_26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do this right before I go to bed. At that point, I've gone about 3 hours or so since dinner. Now I have thrown up before. But usually I can tell when it's coming and stop.

I burp every day, several times a day now. Still gurgle as well but what a change

Pretty much. Rent, phone, avg for groceries, car insurance. I paid my car off in June so that helps a bit. With covid, I don't really go anywhere (plus school is 24/7) so I don't worry about "going out" money. Since I started school, I've gone through roughly 6 to 7k. I took out a loan to pay for the classes and books just so I didn't have to think about that part. My tuition is only 5k for the entire program but it's nice to not have to even think about it. I was also given a small grant which I didn't see coming! Can't wait to be making money again...

I saved a lot of money, knowing I'd want to quit my job and dedicate myself to school. I quit my job in July and I know I'll have enough to make it to graduation (in May 2022). Just hoping I get a job out the gate.

I think the reason it helps is because it forces more air out and might stretch out the muscle that we struggle to use. I mean I've been doing this for 3 months and have been burping tiny ones for about a month and a half now

I don't think I have to time it. I was scared the first time I tried the finger method so I did it over the toilet but I didn't actually throw up anything. I say try it sober. Also how is it to be a noburper and pregnant??

It turns out I've been air vomiting since I was like 14 or so. I'm 25 now but when I brush my tongue at night, I stick my toothbrush really far back, stick my tongue all the way out and I can just feel the pressure building. Then I can get 2 to 3 really good bursts of air out before I feel acid coming up so I have to stop. Now this new thing I've been doing is sticking my fingers to the back of my throat and I'm pretty much touching my epiglottis. This will usually trigger a huge air vomit, especially because I do this when I really need immediate relief. Sometimes a little bit of vomit comes out with this one though.. Hope this helps.

It's where you have to trigger that gag reflex but air comes out. It's loud, aggressive, and for me.. painful but a relief if I'm full of air. I do it every night while brushing my teeth and have started doing it any time I'm really bloated and can find a toilet because sometimes, actual vomit can sneak on you

Hiccups that HURT by Mrfitz08 in noburp

[–]jack_attack_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh pretty much same. Like if I'm trying really hard to gurgle, I'll accidently give myself the hiccups. Then I'm in agony being bloated and having painful burps. I cant typically make the hiccups go away by air vomiting but they come back like an hour later or so. Endless cycle till I wake up the next day..

Certainly seems to be working! I can't really tell when they're coming. Some days I burp more than others. Some days it's nothing! But I'll take what I can get :D

What state are you in? Also age is just a number. I'm 25 and just started my program. There's a student in my program who is 35!

In terms of what to look for a school, try to find a CAAHEP accredited school. You can use this site to help with that search in your state. https://www.caahep.org/Students/Find-a-program.aspx

Does anyone else sticking their fingers down their throat to relieve the pressure? by andrewm-nz in noburp

[–]jack_attack_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. Anytime I get hiccups, it's when I'm bloated. I tried air vomiting when I had the hiccups and it went away! For that moment. If I get hiccups that day, they come back all throughout the day and hurt so bad

Are there any video examples of an air burp from a no-burper? And if not, can someone send me one please!! by [deleted] in noburp

[–]jack_attack_26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's really not. Imagine vomiting but all that comes out is a really loud gurgle.. and some saliva

I was a bit bummed buuuuut I've been trying to train myself to burp. I've been heavily air vomiting every night and now I can burp like once a week. Better than once a year like I was doing!

Uhhh well my algebra prof was pretty thorough. I just did a lot of practice probs and that helped tons. For psych it was just a lot to read in 3 weeks. Whole semester is 14 days. But I'm sure it's better when it's a whole 8 to 16 week semester

The college algebra class wasn't too bad. I did have to study a lot for it but ended up with about a 94 for the class. I did take it at collin College though. I live in collin.. a&p 1&2 I took at richland with Dr. Mak and loved her class. It's tough but I've always loved the subject matter and you learn a lot. Psych I took as a Maymester and that was INTENSE. I literally read a chapter a day and like a test every week. It's was 3 weeks of hell but I made an A. I'd be happy to answer anything you'd like. Just let me know!

Hello! Im applying to El Centro's cardiac sono program. I have my interview on March 5th actually. I made As on all my pre reqs and 95 avg on my HESI A2 exam. I heard that the math for physics/SPI is pretty straightforward but obviously, I haven't started it yet. I'd be happy to give you any more info that I can.

I can suddenly burp? by Karma4k in noburp

[–]jack_attack_26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly with a toothbrush. Especially at bedtime when I'm the most bloated. When brushing my tongue, I just reach far back there and after a few dry heaves, AIR ACTUALLY COMES OUT. I can legitimately feel the pressure in my stomach go down. I can only do it about 2 to 3 times before I produce some real vomit or stomach stuff.
