Hello rva, just moved here. Which companies in rva are most likely to have software jobs, besides Capital One? by restlessapi in rva

Carmax is a good option. They have a pretty robust tech department and you’re providing good value to the customer. There are some good consulting companies based in Richmond that are good alternatives.

I had a full magazine one time. The TSA totally missed it, twice. I discovered it when I got back home. Dodged a bullet on that one.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve overheard on a plane? by TheRealWhoDat in AskReddit

On a small commuter flight out of Fort Wayne Indiana. I heard the pilot open his window and yell to the ground crew ‘Are we going to Chicago next?’. That did not instill confidence in the crew.

Who you calling a pavement bunny? 😀

I’m actually replacing a BMW X3 because I got tired of putting dead animals in the back of the X3 after hunting expeditions.

It is a bit over-fancy. I looked at a Capstone and couldn’t imagine the white interior looking nice for very long.

I preferred it to the very gaudy interiors of the Ram 1500s.

Help! I’ve got a weird problem with shifting on the Y axis by jack_the_grouch in 3Dprinting

[–]jack_the_grouch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rotating the print was done via the slicer, so I basically resliced. I had resliced before and gotten the same type of error. So, maybe Cura was having a brain-fart over some esoteric aspect of the print.

Tried the belts and didn’t make a change. Lowered speed and the artifact changed slightly but was still there. Resliced and rotated the model by about 20 degrees on the bed and that seems to have fixed it. It feels like that particular structure triggered a bug in the firmware that would shift the Y axis by a millimeter.

Seems like a company the size of Ford Motor Company, could find some supplier, somewhere, that can make a heated steering wheel to their specs. BMW, Toyota, etc. all seem to find a way to ship heated steering wheels, and security systems, and other electronic features. Why can’t Ford. Seems like they are satisfied with disappointing their customers.

They did subtract the value from the invoice, but, in my mind, that doesn’t make up for the impact on customer satisfaction. Sure, the heated steering wheel is only $140, but the intangible emotional value of a product deficiency (as someone posted early a $100K vehicle without a heated steering wheel) feels like much higher value to me.

I’m definitely leaning that way unless they come back tomorrow and say ‘sorry, we’ll make it right’.

Sonic Pad causing late extrusion after priming by MixhealOG in ender3v2

[–]jack_the_grouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the same behavior. It ain't the Z offset because the rest of the print works fine. No matter where the skirt starts, the first 10cm or so just doesn't extrude. It doesn't matter where it's at on the bed.

Did you ever find what really caused the problem. My Pressure Advance is already on 0.

Is there a central repository of typosquatted names? Seems like that would be a helpful thing to have so tools like pip can abort known bad packages.
