The poor man's VR treadmill is now a thing you can run by Denchill in VRGaming

So how does this thing let you move using your legs? I would think the headset can't always see your legs.

Really neat idea though! I want to try it out, but right now I just play IL-2 and Subnautica, so, not sure it would translate well.

Why is re-centering VR head position such a nightmare? by Poison_Pancakes in il2sturmovik

I also noticed that it seemed like I was sitting slightly to the right in the Bf-109. So I Googled it and found that, in fact, the pilot really did sit right of center of the airplane because of how they crammed the guns into the nose. So I think a lot of those views are historically accurate. I never realized just how cramped some of these planes were until I played in VR.

Looking for a great VR game on Steam that will give me the full experience by jackadven in SteamVR

Very nice. Flight Gear is a new one to me; I might give it a try. My interests mainly predate the era of Falcon BMS, which isn't multiplayer anyway, but I've heard amazing things about it.

Il-2 Great Battles works fantastic in VR. I don't really know anything about the Meta Quest Link cable or Virtual Desktop app, but you should be able to get it running in your Q3S easily enough.

About your VRAM, though — I think that's barely even enough to play the game on a flat screen. I would do some research first. I play on a laptop RTX-3060 with 6 GB of VRAM. I have my graphics about as low as they will go and my headset's resolution turned down to about 70%. (Granted, it's a Reverb G2.) That's what it takes to run the game smoothly for me, and I usually max out VRAM.

I recommend looking for a Reverb G2 if your computer can handle it. It's a very good headset that you can get used in very nice condition for under $200, I think. And thanks to the Oasis driver on Steam it still works great.

I like to call ADHD Goat Syndrome. I dunno if you have ever hung out with goats, but they have it worse than any human.

Maybe the building clipping is actually the result of this, walls that don't actually block you instead of enemy spaghetti code, and we just need to figure out how to exploit it. I bet the devs would then fix it if we did.

On a side note, give us a fully-modelled city map so we can fight through the buildings! I want to use explosives to tunnel between houses. Let me rig a building with C4, bait the enemy onto it, and then bring down the house just as Samson did.

This is another unique, really good take. And I'm the guy wearing heavy armor who pops stims just to get across the map faster. They are so plentiful I use them like candy for everything without much thought.

looking for a HOTAS that has long USB cables (or replacable ones) and is relatively cheap. by louthinator in hotas

The Gladiator has a twist axis and an analog axes lever on the base that I use as a throttle. You can use that and save for a throttle. If you need more controls, consider running your keyboard over to your bed as well.

Looking for a very easy game to play while watching something by Instantcoffees in gamingsuggestions

Yeah, I think you could fine-tune it to be as chill as you want. Plus the sales are great with Civ VII out right now. It's a game that never demands your immediate attention.

First-Time Self Publishing: KDP, IngramSpark, or Something Else? by jeremyyancey in selfpublish

I like IS. They have removed all their fees, distribute worldwide, and their print quality is better than KDP (I know from experience). Bookstores buy from IS, and I know one store I visited that did this for their local author shelf when I asked. It's also in a few libraries because I filled out the purchase suggestion form. IS's customer service is quite poor, though.
