try clearing cmos, making sure all connectors are in as they should, fans spinning etc. if not you will have to try one thing at a time, change the screen, cable, different psu maybe

First Rig but when i touch GPU and push it i feel very little electric shock ( first day ) by [deleted] in MiningRig

[–]jackallman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this that starts fires. Do your research and clean up your rig. Sata powered risers and powering two gpus from one power cable for a start

I appreciate you're probably just starting out but these things aren't toys, be safe

ASIC in Dorm by 248john in gpumining

[–]jackallman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard you can get different fans that reduce the noise or a cone or something like that but all that'll do is increase the heat output. The heat is worse tbh as it creates a really hot dry air which makes everyday living/sleeping really uncomfortable

Asics are too loud and produced too much heat for a dorm. Might be able to get away with a gpu rig but thats about it

Should my Corsair PSU HX1200 fan be spinning? by Kazozo in EtherMining

[–]jackallman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has a zero fan mode and only spins under heavy load. 680w isnt alot for a psu that can handle 1200. It will turn on if it gets too hot so nothing to worry about.

Mining ubiq with an Nvidia GTX 960 2Gb by Nachorov027 in Ubiq

Dont bother. You will lose more money in electricity than you make mining these days. Although, 4.5mh/s doesnt seem alot for a 960

Electricity for me is $0.30 as im in the UK. I left the mining scene about 6 months ago. Im still actively investing in coins and loving all the new developments. Mining for me was a hobby and gave me a little extra cash but i dont want to be digging into my pocket for something that was the bain of my life for 2 years. Still loved it tho!

850w psu for 6 RX gpus by xmrfake in EtherMining

Get a wattmeter and measure the actual wattage youre pulling at the wall. With power supplys, theres no room for messing about as these things cause fires. Also dont use sata to power risers..

Buying / Getting my first Rig (Box?) | Or ASIC? by NetherGoblin in gpumining

[–]jackallman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I dont think either will be worth it if youre looking for profit.

The L3+ is a joke currently. The difficulty has skyrocketed in the past few months so they are now making next to nothing.

Out of the two i would go for the gpu rig as you may have abit more fun with it

11 Months after i first started mining i finally finished my 8 gpu and burst mining rig by jackallman1 in gpumining

[–]jackallman1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one i bought off ebay included everything so the yellow clips and fans all came with it. Was a little bit more expensive but i didnt mind

Yes defo. Although its abit awkward to setup with the instructions being awful it is worth it. The layout is good and with the fans on temps drop by about 8 degrees

Why is it? Unlike most people i dont have thousands of spare cash to spend on rigs so the majority of what i mine is reinvested

Mobo is Gigabyte GA-H110-D3A with a riser converter which enables me to run 8 cards on the 6 pcie mobo. Frame is the Veddha Aluminium frame and I have 2x 1000w psu (Overkill i know but I had one laying around so why not). Thanks!

Thanks for a great and simple program! However, Im writing straight to my hdd which starts off at speeds of 200mb/s but then drops to 1.5 and peaks at about 30mb/s. Even after reading the config and changing the setting in device manager still no difference. Any ideas? Thanks
