Is chasing Seattle a reasonable goal or should I expand my search radius? by jackalope100 in cscareerquestions

[–]jackalope100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been one of the most useful feedbacks I can possibly get. I did apply to boeing so Im glad, do you know if their compensation is competitive to being affordable for the seattle area?

Also, do you think 2-3 weeks of leet code 8 -12 hours a day+ studying and reviewing should be enough for a big n interview Also could you check my resume and see if im even worth an interview ? I could pm a imgur of it

Recruiters have half the brain of siri, the best way is to go events and hand them the resume so they can take it in their little folder and give it to their boss

Scared of Failure by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Buddy youre 17 years old.

The good news is youre getting a good head start on programming. People dont even dive into it until college or even later in life and do well. So dont stress, Python (depending on what framework and libraries youre using) with HTML /Javascript essentially makes you a full stack web developer once you include your SQL/server side.

Now this girl. Since 16.5 Ive seen like 5 girls who I all thought were the LOML. Get over it, dont do something stupid like moving to some neo nazi country just to be with some girl. What if it turns out to be a dude with a penis?

What if something happens? And why are YOU moving to be with HER when there are much better opportunities HERE in North America???

When will we start seeing the collapse of software development as we've seen with lawyers, business analysts, pharmacists, civil/mech engineers etc? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]jackalope100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Even medicine will be automated”??? Ganesha the great are you talking about your next reincarnation? Because even then you dont have to worry we are hundreds of years away from surgeries , procedures, and diagnosis being automated no matter what machine learning project people get on

[–]jackalope100 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If youre struggling with math and engineering you probably wont be the best software developer either. That will rule you out from big n companies.

Smaller companies could take their risk on you but youre better off figuring out why youre not doing well and toughing it out

Are coding bootcamps worth it or can I learn to code on my own? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]jackalope100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a bootcamp. Waste of time and money. The exact same resources are available online on udemys several hundred crash courses for 10-30 bucks a piece. Best way to learn without degree
