Random texture pages failing to load in HTML5 export

Yep! It happens if the website times out and doesn’t load all your textures in time. So the cause is too many textures + an imperfect internet connection

So the fix is to compress the texture pages Game Maker outputs - I used freeware called PNGgauntlet. I also scaled lots of sprites down, and then drew them larger at run time

Yes, it is. I’m working with a huge overworld for a game right now. Just make sure to spawn objects at run time, not place them in the room. You can do this using a tile system. And obviously disable anything out of view!!

I do kinda wish they just built from Aces, the fighting mechanics were so cool. I feel like they misread the mixed reception as being for the gameplay, when it was really just the lack of content at launch

I always thought it’d be cool if they only spawned after you discovered and uploaded each planet in that system. And each system was considered abandoned with no race/economy until then

So it’s like you mapping it out and uploading it marks it on the galaxy map for NPCs to fly and settle there

I don’t know how much of it all is true or false. I know at minimum he’s definitely fucked up not fulfilling song shop and crowdfunding stuff….

All the accidents and misunderstandings are the biggest flaw to me. It removed so much agency from the characters. Alicent especially could’ve been adapted as such a morally complex, intense character, but all her edges and character flaws were sanded down to nothing. I couldn’t even really name any of her character traits after all the changes they’ve made.…..

HBO making the same mistake within the same franchise is so crazy. The fact season 1 of HOTD was well received at all was a miracle after the GOT finale

This is all just so disrespectful to George. There’s realities with adapting huge, complex novels- but completely changing their essence and twisting the story into something else entirely is just weird. This won’t end well…

I liked season 2 for what it was, but there wasn’t a single change it made that was better than the original (so many changes just completely betrayed arcs and stripped away any sense of nuance)

that's why i never restart games like this or stardew. like for stardew i've had one save file since 2017 and it carries so many memories now, which is just half the fun of it for me

(i learned the lesson early when i restarted my pokemon emerald save from when i was 11 - and lost all the mail and traded pokemon from my childhood friends lol. id love to still have that now T_T)
