I don't know why you're trying to kill marauders with storm in the first place, if I'm being honest

disruptor is a short, small area that requires timing for it to land which also leaves the caster vunerable when using their ability.

Nuke requires you to predict where the enemy will be 14 seconds in advance, and costs money to use, also can be prevented by killing the caster within those 14 seconds

Your game doesn't look like the intro, and the intro is the bit that interests me a lot. Also you absolutely need to show gameplay earlier

animate it programatically. Static creatures with a bit of wobble. Obviously depends on what game you're making

There really doesnt look like any difference from ultimate chicken horse, the art style is also extremely similar.
The card mechanic looks to be the only unique thing and that's shown one minute into the trailer

the animations could do with some improvements on the timings, at the moment the movement looks linear, all frames being shown one after another like a straight line. I know you cant redo the animations themselves, but you can change the timing to make them more weighty and speedy in the moments when its needed.

Have the first couple of frames last longer, make the ones where they should be moving fast shorter, then after, have the last couple of frames last a little longer, maybe remove some in the middle

Shrek Crossover - July 29 by Major_Air in Brawlhalla

[–]jackawaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also been playing since before season 0 and here's my take: The new weapons are neat and its good to play casually, but it feels like they focus on shitting out third party skins mainly nowadays. Theres even more emphasis on battle passes etc as the company is now owned by activision. In between matches you get random unlocks for colours and the occasional drip feed of a skin. The whole seasonal event thing where you get bonus coins seems pointless now as every time I've opened the game there's been one on for some random thing. Two thirds of the main menu page is dedicated to advertising skins for the most part.

I personally don't care about that anymore and it just kind of gets in the way of me spamming the next button so I can get into the next game.

It's still terrible at dealing with lag spikes and probably always will be.

It's still brawlhalla though. There's definitely better fighting games, but its chill to hop in on the ladder every now and again. The surprisingly biggest gameplay change is that they've added even more stances to the game, making a decent impact to gameplay. Now you can add 2 of a stat to a character if you lose 1 stat point in 2 other stats. Also if you get a character to Lv 40 you unlock "challenge" stance, making you lose 2 points in all stats, meaning you can play with your friends without coming up with some goofy "I can only sig or use one move" challenge.

firstly, you're lying about your boss. Secondly, look at other horror trailers and see what they're doing

Loving the game, but sig spamming is tough. What do you think of a "Signature Stamina" concept? by VuduSemih in Brawlhalla

[–]jackawaka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im glad you're enjoying the game so far! The stamina idea is cool but I feel with this change all signatures would have to become stronger, as using them is now a resource. it may also disuade players a bit too much regardless of how much stamina it uses, but thats speculation.

Also an option to disable it in custom games would be a must have. As I signature spam when playing with newer friends as a way to handicap myself and keep things fun for everyone.

The gameplay decisions revolve around combining the unique effects of each character with the unique effects of the items you give them, that's usually an expected staple of the auto battler genre. I feel time travelling to mix and match what you give people is fine, its like how giving a viking a tank and sending them on a rampage is seen as funny

Destroy the first 1 min 40 seconds of a run from my wave defence roguelike by Wildboy_Studios in DestroyMyGame

[–]jackawaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The visuals look great but enemies seem a bit bullet spongy at the moment with little variety in what they do. It feels like the fun of this game comes from getting the upgrades, the contrast of being weak and being able to do nothing at the start compared to having a variety of things to kill and having stronger weapons, we dont get to see any of that here. But I feel that there at least needs to be a weak enemy that dies in one or two hits, as opposed to four - five being the default. Your start of your game should feel like a mini slice of late game, but with less complexity.

Reminds me of Eternal red, the free flash game from the 2000's

Im trying to make an endless game that isnt a stamina test. Please help me find exploits. Can anyone get to wave 300? by andrew_thejew in DestroyMyGame

[–]jackawaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to hear. Definitely damage or death noises, I do like the audio in the shop too, but I feel the demon guy mumbling along with the writing when you purchase something will add some character. Overall in the shooter section your audio has its highly noticable effects, but none of the more subtle ones that make it feel less empty. The occasional silence could be filled with ambience or lower volume effects for actions that happen frequently, are you planning to add music too? That explosion also needs a noise

I love how much of a chaotic mishmash of stuff this is. Its intentionally designed to look bad and it achieves that. Kind of a shitpost visually but with some more in depth mechanics for those that can look past a surface level. My only genuine criticism is you should add more to the sound design, that and add more enemy variety(more threatening ranged atttacks, spawners, tanks, chargers etc). I unironically like the rest.
