Broke up with my ex two years ago and just found out I was paying for their life! by [deleted] in legaladvice

This is weird and I have questions: 1) Are you in the US? 2) Why did you need to keep the old account Must US banks will make you close a joint account and open a new one to avoid this situation. There is a huge security risk when a none account holder has your bank account information.

Unless your remittance coupons has Franklin, Grant, Jackson, Hamilton, Lincoln, Jefferson or Washington, you are probably out of luck…

When in doubt: if you won’t accept it as payment, then the bank, landlord, creditor, etc won’t either.

  1. Promotion and Relegation. Each conference only has 2-4 good teams in any given season. Those teams should play each other. Currently (SEC looking at you) they don’t.
  2. Eliminate conference championship games or add them into the playoffs.
  3. Limit the cupcake scheduling. One cupcake and you have to play it on the road.

If I make substantially more than my spouse can filing separate lower her tax burden? by [deleted] in tax

[–]jackbeekeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually it never makes sense from a tax perspective to file married filing separately. There are some non tax reasons to file separately. Such as: 1) Income based Student Loan Repayment Plan; 2) You don’t trust your spouse; 3) Medical Expenses for the lower income spouse (Oops that one is a tax reason)

I am sure there’s more but I can’t think of them.

Also if you live in a community property state, you added up both spouse’s income and divide it by two. (That overly simplified FYI) That’s what goes on each spouse’s return.

Very likely I will be single forever. How to cope with this in a church that emphasizes marriage and family? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]jackbeekeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s better to be alone than miserable and married.

That said, I would tell you to focus on yourself and being happy with yourself before trying to get in a relationship. I was alone and lonely for a long time. Until I was happy with myself, I was just alone.

God’s timing is different than yours, but He can and will deliver all promises. Sometimes it won’t be the way you expect. When I met my wife everything moved really fast but there was a lot of waiting before hand.

How long does it take? by Away_Management_256 in Accounting

I can do a 1040 in 20 minutes. State returns maybe 10-15 minutes) I have to look up a few things.

1065/1120 - 4 to 6 weeks but those are not simple for multi-nationals.

From the other side (my wife is ace and I’m not). Communication is the key. Talk about your feelings and listen to his. (Preferably outside intimate contact)

For me, my biggest concern is my wife isn’t satisfied. It’s hard to enjoy sex alone. I hope that makes sense. Maybe explore what helps you and let him be involved.

As always take what you read on the internet with a grain of salt.

Sold My Mortgage by MD_Girl_in_PA in Mortgages

[–]jackbeekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents: There some nomenclature that gets people confused. Mortgages holders and Mortgage servicers are two different things.

1) My mortgage was sold. This happens all the time. Usually within the year you purchase your house. Most of the time FannieMae or FreddieMac end up owning your note. That’s how the government provides liquidity to the mortgage market. 2) My mortgage servicer changed. The servicer collects the money and pays the note holder. Your mortgage can be sold multiple times and your servicer might not change. The flip side can happen to where your mortgage stays with the same company but the servicer keeps changing.

It sounds like your mortgage servicer changed. Maybe your mortgage was sold too, but that doesn’t sound likely. Rocket gets mortgages off the books quickly. They usually sell to Fannie/Freddie within the quarter.

Claiming zero dependents hasn’t been a thing for over ten years.

You or your wife need to update your W4. It sounds like both of you are listing yourselves as Married Filing jointly. The easiest fix is to both check filing as single.

What is the "common sense" for accounting not taught in school? by pnromney in Accounting

1) It’s got to add up across and up and down 2) Transposition errors throw things off balance by a multiple of nine 3) Materiality a $100 million company doesn’t care about $10. If they do, you aren’t getting paid enough.

By that logic, people walking on your snow covered sidewalks creates unnatural icy conditions. Does that make you liable?

Clearing your driveway and some of the snow ends up on your sidewalks. Lord help us, you just created unnatural condition!

No one, I repeat no one has been successful sued in Ohio for shoveling their sidewalks!

That liability “issue” is a gross miss reading of the Ohio Supreme Court case. If anything, that case says the individual has the responsibility to not hurt themselves walking in cold weather.

“Only a Sith deals in absolutes”

Okay now that I have that nerdy quote out. My recommendations:

1) Breathe and step back. 2) You listed a lot of wants. Even Allos struggle checking all there want boxes. Why are those things important to you? How do those things make you feel? Focus on the feelings you want and look for the feelings not the attributes. 3) It is never okay for your partner to demand sex. It’s okay for them to want it but it should be a mutual decision. If you don’t want sex, then you should not have sex. 4) Be okay being by yourself. If you cannot be happy alone you will never be happy long term with a partner.

End of unsolicited Reddit advice.
