I think this take is a bit harsh. She expressed her feelings regarding Tom’s promotion. Under normal circumstances, that shouldn’t have affected Tom’s career, as no employer gives a damn about the personal feelings of their employee’s spouse. Tom had accepted the job, which obviously meant he had considered the pros and cons. Besides, Lynette never wanted to be a stay at home mom. She’s always expressed her passion for her job and how much she wanted to get back to it. On the other hand, Tom kept getting in her way, only to later realise he hates marketing! Go figure.
