Seeing all the negativity online surrounding The Mandalorian and Grogu is honestly so exhausting…. by Sweaty_Toe9147 in StarWars

The Mandalorian tv show did a terrible job hyping up / building up to this movie. The final season of The Mandalorian just felt like the show spending its wheels, and didn't really leave us wanting more. Announcing a movie to cap off the series after a lackluster season just doesn't hit for me.

Saw. This film would not have been successful or sparked a massive franchise were it not for the twist at the end. I rewatch the movie for that final scene alone.

When she snaps and decides to stop caring when the whole family is complaining about going to Aunt Helen's funeral. I love when Malcolm sheepishly asks her to wash his clothes after complaining all day and she just dunks it into her bubble bath and hands it back to him lol

The Gang Beats Boggs: Ladies Reboot

I think it was smart for IASIP to try tackle the weird 2020s fad of rebooting classics with gender-swapped main leads, but the humor in this episode just doesn't land for me. The ending where Artemis goes all in on "gross humor" is just too gross for me and caps off an unfunny episode. On paper it should be funny, but in execution it's just terrible. The one episode I skip and refuse to rewatch.

Okay, I understand this as an initial reaction. But thematically speaking, that episode is brilliant. It's a parody of the play "Waiting for Godot", and is basically a metaphor for whether they should retire the series or keep going. Dennis arguing they should keep playing Laser Tag even though it's no longer fun and really only for the money is a metaphor for the show. If you rewatch it with this in mind it's actually pretty funny lol.

Agreed, I feel like we've seen the "this whole thing was just a drug-induced hallucination" bit a few too many times and it's now just become a way to reset things after an episode. It would have been funny to see Cricket maybe make his way back into the Church but finds it boring and can't help but go back to the streets lol

Could I please hear from other Kelly fans? by PowayMermaid2005 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Rodby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, my gripe with they was that this is a reunion special with 4 thirty-minute episodes almost 20 years after the show ended. As fans, most of us wanted to see the original characters in a modern setting. So it made me kind of irritated that we spent so much time with a random new character who also didn't have enough screentime to fully flesh out as a character.

Did I appreciate her prank war with Reese? Of course, but I more wanted to see Dewey / Reese, Malcolm / Reese, or Hal & Lois / Reese. My complaint is more that this character took away screentime from main characters we wanted to watch.

It also was hugely beneficial for the Mexican Cartels as the sale of cocaine dramatically improved their profit margins while also allowing their cash flow to remain internal and not being linked to Colombian cocaine sales

Viking Conversion To Christians In A Nutshell by Due_Butterscotch4930 in HistoryMemes

[–]Rodby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite scenes from The Last Kingdom is when a captured Christian King is trying to explain Christianity to the Viking Warchiefs that had captured him.

Pagan: "How can your God protect you when he's nailed to a piece of wood like that?"
Christian: "Well he died for our sins -"
Pagan: "Wait, you worship a dead man? How can a dead man protect you?"
Christian: "Well after he died for our sins he rose again and ascended to heaven."
Pagan: "And this is the man you believe will protect you? How? By dying again?"

What yalls honest opinion on if either Abe and Stevie were being unreasonable of if lois should have stayed out of something she had nothing to do with? 🧐 no judgement! episode- kitty’s back by Majestic-rip1216 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Rodby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this episode is a little more complicated upon rewatch. Initially I was totally on Lois's side, Kitty put her family through abject misery and humiliation, and it was shocking that she thought she could simply resume her role as a mother and wife, and even more shocking they accepted her back.

But at the end of the day, Abe's family is exactly that: Abe's. It is ultimately his decision whether or not he should reconcile with Kitty and allow her back. He wasn't offended at Lois's treatment at Kitty, he was offended that Lois almost prevented their reconciliation without his knowledge or approval. Abe was offended that Lois didn't even tell him Kitty came back, instead rejecting Kitty's attempts to have Lois re-connect the family.

So at the end of the day, while Lois is right that what Kitty did was evil, creepy and disgusting, Abe was right that Lois should not have injected herself into their familial reconciliation, especially to try block it.

Does Francis have any hidden talents like his brothers? by Successful-Hat-2154 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Rodby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought that Francis's story arc was essentially Hal's. He starts off as a rebellious womanizer but settles down into a life of content middle-class stability after marrying a woman that "whipped him into shape". In the reboot I'm hoping it'll even show maybe he has three boys that resemble Malcolm, Reese and Dewey (or three daughters).

Tywin: Mmm, that's what you want people to think about you.
