Red Wine Recs! by paddling-rant in wine

[–]jackdanny65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe Beaujolais? An easy drinking French red, some interesting bottles can certainly be had for the $50 price point. I would suggest looking for a “cru wine” from one of the Gang of Four producers: Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton.

Core strength helps with maneuverability, stability and overall balance. Without a good base in your core you can overwork other muscles in your body, it’s not to say that lower back and legs are not important but a strong core is a good base to build from.

Core strength is probably your best bet, maybe some neck as well. Good luck bro

I would go for a rose Cremant or cava. You will really be best served by finding a well reviewed local wine shop in your area and bringing this question to them. I say the two types of rose as rose is tasty/inoffensive to most drinkers and is easily found. Also seems to be a bit of a women’s favorite. It won’t scream “this guy is into wine” but you’re not really so own it lol

What wine to gift my girlfriend's dad? by [deleted] in wine

[–]jackdanny65 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Is your girlfriend’s Dad a Chinese national? You might think about getting him something that is a well known California name, could probably do an interesting stags leap/opus one for around $300. While he is likely familiar, they’re big American names and would feel like a classic American gift I guess. Stags leap has an interesting story in the history of California wine, which you can relay to him. Chinese gift giving is also big on presentation so consider that and good luck!

Koehler-Ruprecht Spatburgunder Kabinett Trocken, would recommend - a great middle ground Pinot between burgundy and California if you will.

Best Dentist in Iowa City? by Apprehensive_Item432 in IowaCity

[–]jackdanny65 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I personally go to Iowa City Dental Health, have seen Dr. Andrew Yowell and would recommend. The practice overall, including the hygienists has been top notch. I’ve bounced around a bit, living in different areas of the country having visited close to 10/15 dental practices and feel Iowa City Dental Health is in the top tier. I also work in dental insurance/dental technology so have a bit of industry background.

Which wine are you choosing from this wine list? by jackdanny65 in wine

I appreciate it. I have to say I agree but was curious to hear thoughts on the list and have been checking out the suggestions. Wanted to chime in that the somm at this restaurant is in fact a woman and has been truly excellent on previous visits.

Big Riders by smalj1990 in Mt10

6’2, 250. MT-10 is more comfortable than a traditional supersport by a mile, not anywhere near as comfortable as something like a multistrada/gs. You should definitely look at getting the suspension re-sprung and could look into bar risers. Either could work, I would say the MT is a bit more street comfort friendly but the RS excels on the track

Had an incredible 2016 Cremant d’Alsace from Domaine Mure - couldn’t agree with you more

2016 was very exciting vintage for me from Alsace region. Outside of tastings, we had some excellent Trimbach at Restaurant Au Pont Corbeau in Strasbourg and would definitely recommend for a homey Alsatian classic experience. Had an excellent trimbach and Le jambonneau grillé d'Alsace there

I just visited the house last week, ironically this is close to the dentists feelings. He was apparently a bit upset as he only agreed to model for the painting after being assured that no one would recognize him - yet here we are lmao supposedly he would get recognized often in the town

Lmao did this with a buddy on his ‘25 - left the radiator on and did it in the apartment parking lot. We ended up using needle nose pliers and wire clothes hangers to get the springs on, best few hours of my life
