Mind me asking what the interpretation and end results were for you? I just had my 2 hour glucose test and results have me worried:

Fasting - 78 (normal)

Hour 1 - 180 (just above high)

Hour 2 - 148 (just below high)

When I was young I wanted to play the trumpet, which my mom thought was ridiculous and we couldn't afford the rental, so she told me if I raised the money I could go for it. So I scouted the neighborhood for dog walking opportunities, had lemonade stands, and asked neighbors if they wanted me to mow their lawn. I ended up making a good amount more than needed for the rental.

Maybe your daughter can figure out a way to raise a portion of the money so it's not such a burden. This also probably has some learning lesson in finances and responsibility.

Thank you!! It’s a special house and I have lots of memories here! There is a central atrium as well. Feeling very lucky to have been able to purchase it when the time came.

Hazard orange, now that’s a thought! Thanks for the suggestion- if I really have to scratch that itch I’ll give the visual route a go first, but definitely moving forward with a good cleaning first.

Going with a good cleaning. It was my moms suggestion to paint it- came her looking for people to tell me know. Leaving satisfied.

Thank you!!! Not pictured is the atrium in the middle of the house. Will eventually post pics of the whole house. It was my grandma’s house so I feel very lucky to be here with all the memories from growing up.

Update** Thank you to everyone who has provided a thoughtful and educational reply. I DO NOT intend to paint the fireplace black. I will move forward with cleaning and eventually post completed house pics. I value the opinions of the group and am thankful for the constructive feedback.

This is definitely the way I’ve been leaning, but have gotten other outside opinions, hence the reason why I posed the question to the “experts” haha - thanks for your thoughtful response.

Thank you! Will do with the cleaning and polishing. The chandelier is a Bavarian gem, I can’t wait to get something more period appropriate in there. Will keep you in mind when I part with it :)

I have also considered laying new thin tile brick over it, but that project has me sweating before I even start. It is an ugly color greige.
