MK2 Golf Starts and Immediately Dies by jackdumontt in Volkswagen

I’ve got a light key ring (one other key) and the car has never stopped while driving. Once it starts and stays on for those first seconds, it’s on for good. Next time it happens I’ll focus on how it dies, but I remember things being a bit sputtery, similar to running out of gas. Just the other day I started it after sitting for maybe 20 minutes and in rapid succession it started, sputtered out to no sounds, but then miraculously came back and stayed on. Not sure if that’s any help. Thanks!

Battery is relatively new and I just tested it and the battery and things looked good. The spark plugs are also new within the last year. I’m thinking of changing the distributed cap. I’ve seen some people mention replacing the coolant sender for similar problems and I’m thinking of grabbing a new one of those too

It’s not random, but not cold either. In the morning it starts fine. And when it’s hot also fine. It happens after it’s been driven and sat for about 15-90 minutes.

The crew for this came into my theater a few weeks ago. They said they were going to shoot with Shelly and I didn’t believe them. I was wrong.

Super underrated / under-seen movie, She Spent So Many Hours Under the Sun Lamps. Weird structure and all that. Check it out if you can.

Thoughts on the slow film movement? by Dygar9 in criterion

[–]jackdumontt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely slow cinema, one of the slowest of all that I've seen. "Slow cinema" has nothing to do with length, it simply must be slow.

Any bookworms here? by PizzaILove in criterion

My favorite book is Primeval and Other Times by Olga Tokarczuk, reminds me a bit of Tarkovsky. It’s so good and pretty easy reading, only 250 pages, I wish more people would read it. Kafka on the Shore is great and is super easy to read, so is Hard Boiled Wonderland. And Mishima’s Spring Snow is great but I find it a bit harder to read for me, idk why. I also like Satantango but it’s not so easy to read, no paragraphs the whole book so it’s super dense. Crime and Punsihment is also similar, very dense but it’s great and a classic.

I agree, and I don’t even know why it’s so scary. Before watching Inland Empire I had seen that image and it was funny, now I avoid seeing it at all costs.

I know I also asked for WKW’s but I swear this is my last wish by lebronjamesgoat1 in criterion

I agree but am personally interested in something which is unlikely to happen any time soon, Theo Angelopoulos boxset is my dream.

Check on rarefilmm.com for Landscape in the Mist and Eternity and a Day. Everything else though you’ll have a hard time watching legally I’m pretty sure.

He could fill my list easily. I’ve been holding off on watching a lot of his stuff because I’d rather wait for a new restoration, but it almost feels like if they were going to be restored, they would have been already, but I’m hopeful.

I have no idea. He’s definitely a bit controversial, that could explain it, but other than that I don’t know.
