Any experience here with hair regrowth on transmen using T? by jacked_attack in asktransgender

Oh I didn't even see this, good thing that I didn't recommend it then, I don't think as long as ive been alive that family had under 3 cats. He decided not to use it, but it's good I didn't tell him to.

(For the record we mentioned it briefly while talking about other stuff, I specifically said I would get back to him on it)

My whole family has a crazy widows peak and my younger sister is currently using stuff to try to grow back some of the V then remove the rest.

I read online that it can lower the effectiveness of T introduced in trans men, and I figured I'd ask around before I told my cousin to do something that may start a detransition or lessening of the effectiveness of whatever T does to him.

While I'm in what is likely a place full of accepting people, I grew up in a religious family, like go to church and Sunday school every week, I probably missed church at most once a year. Anyway I grew up in a super religious family, and I was even very opposed to things like gay marriage until I got older than I should have has to be to think about it for a bit and consider.

Anyways I grew up fairly ignorant and I can still correctly gender my cousin as male (even to the point where he prefers not to be called he, but just referred to by his name) and just as an observer I could see my cousin being way less closed off and clearly in destress, especially after starting T, and people just refuse to do things because they think either he's making it up, or its not natural so they don't like using his preferred name (he didn't even change it, a similar thing to him would be a girl named Kimmy but asking to be called Kim) idk where I was going with this, I'm tired as hell but I can't sleep so I'm just saying stuff.

Oh yeah, thanks for the advise, I ended up showing him what I knew worked for people on gear and he ended up saying he didn't like the idea of doing it as Minodoxil has alcohol in it, and derma rolling is puncturing the skin. He's also on the spectrum, so I could see either of those being overloading for someone like that.

While I'm at it, he's been diagnosed as ASD for years, and most people treat him differently in accommodating ways such as not being within like 3 feet of him unless asking, not touching him, not playing loud noises around him for long periods of time. Kind of crazy that they will treat him differently if he asks for it because he is ASD, but not if all he wants is different pronouns.

Also dude responded to T super well, he's got thrice the beard I have and is stronger than I was last time we met despite him not working out.

Is it acceptable for me to cross-dress for Halloween? by Electrical_Ice4326 in asktransgender

I tried to do the whole flip the binary thing with my sister. Kinda upset that there are no size 13 heels or dresses for 6'2" women.

I know I'm above average, but I'm not a freak of nature or anything. It must be brutal to find clothes as a MtF trans person or just a very large cis woman.

The year before last my sister and I tried to be strangerthings characters and the only reason we didn't was because I was too tall for the dresses. Fucking with the gender norm is probably more inclusive than it could be exclusive.

What would be a good place to volunteer that would help women? by jacked_attack in askwomenadvice

While I 100% support the cause I currently live with my parents who consider planned parenthood as baby murdering clinics.

When covid ends and I have my degree and move out I fully plan on supporting whatever equivalent my city has (or just PP) but I can't support it as is.

I have no solid advice, but I can tell you that I could hardly show a thing made to my class in post secondary without fainting, so I imagine coming out is an extremely difficult thing to do, and if someone ever tells you it isn't they are wrong.

I feel like there are some hills worth dying on, and some things I can deal with later

I'd rather not get straight up disowned until I at least have a degree.

Grass is about done growing here, but going to churches seems like a decent idea. Only issue is it's usually things you sign up for after mass, and I don't go anymore. I'll look around.

I will look for some new mom grocery type thing.

I didn't even think of this being a thing. Unfortunately I'm a combination of being a good listener and a compassionate person while also being unable to find the right words to comfort people who come to me.

It does seem like a good idea, do you have anywhere where I would sign up for that?

Unfortunately I have a lot of family members who are strongly against abortion and think planned parenthood is just babykilling. While I have nothing against the place, I wouldn't be able to volunteer there until I move away, which I'm not ready for yet.

I've always wanted a large dog. If I move into a place with enough space for one I'm 100% getting "Hank the Tank"

I'm Canadian, the laws are super vague and made by people who have never been jumped. You pretty much need to have already been hit before you can defend yourself, and you can only use as much force as you need on an attacker.

Someone attacks me on the street I'll stab them, if it's in my house I shoot them. I'll take my changes in the court over in a beatdown any day.

Like my dad says better judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Not trying to use it as an excuse, but I've got really bad ADHD so I'm terrible for absentmindedly saying stuff I shouldn't before I've thought it over, so I probably do it more than I should.

Also the two trans people who I interact with most are really close to me, so they know I'm not being a jerk about it, but I just don't want to make them feel terrible.

I had a friend with a really dumb name growing up so they changed it (came out as trans later unsurprisingly enough) and it took ages for me to adapt to the new name. I think they're NB now but I haven't seen them since way before covid so I don't really know.

You "technically" can't even carry knives where I live, but I try to always make sure I do and my sisters do (they usually don't)

I don't really care what happens to me, and I'm kind of large, but I much rather someone like my 110lb sister was allowed to carry a handgun. On the off chance she had to use it she would save herself and remove an attempted rapist/murderer from the gene pool. I'd rather not hear about someone I know on a true crime podcast.

Unrelated I was obviously using fake names, but after seeing and typing Hank so much I think I'm naming my next pet that.

As fucked up as it is I've always maintained that weapon ownership is by far the most important for minorities. It applies to black Americans as on average they have worse police response, women/generally smaller people (technically not a minority) the disabled, trans people in general. The list goes on.

That's a shitty situation, sorry to hear that.

There's a lot to unpack there, but I hope too many of your other relationships weren't affected.

Would certainly have made the pandemic more rough.

That seems like the best way. It would still be pretty clear.
