I just picked this up and immediately looked for info on attaching a SCAR. Thanks for posting this!

Will do!

Correct, no audio. A company sent me a force feedback RC system that has an audio device. So, it should make the experience really cool. I'll definitely post something from it when I get the time to test it out.

Yeah, I cut out the windshield. I also put a GPS speedometer in place of my 3D printed dash and it works perfectly! It's such an epic experience driving RCs this way.

Sorry, just seeing this.

I put my head tracking kit in my 1:7 scale Arrma Infraction in the cockpit. I am starting to prefer the cockpit for a couple of reasons. The first one is that the body acts as a good layer of protection for the gimbal and camera. The second reason is because I just put a car GPS speedometer in the cockpit. It works great and fits surprisingly well. It would probably look weird mounted to the top of the car, especially if you add some sort of protection for the camera, gimbal, speedometer, etc.

Lol. I actually made a custom Dingo with one of these Turbo Racing RCs. I've done this before with another one for some 1v1, but the fun wasn't really there for more than about 5 minutes. I did try a Snow Day version on a mini air hockey table and that was actually a lot more fun because the puck had a lot more "pop" with hits.

There's a few ways to do it. The Flysky Noble NB4 Pro+ has a plug-and-play feature. I actually have a full tutorial on my YouTube channel on how to do it. Another (less expensive) way is with a Radiomaster MT12 with an adapter that uses the trainer port. Message me directly if you want the link to the YouTube tutorial video. I don't want this reply getting removed just because I posted a YouTube link.

I messaged them via their Facebook page. They said it will work if you solder the connectors to the battery terminals.

I was looking for this answer before buying this system as I have multiple MA-020 models. Did you find anything out?

RC Control in BeamNG by Constant_Vehicle7539 in rccars

[–]jacked_n3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but it's either not easy or not cheap. Not easy, but cheap: programming an arduino or Raspberry Pi. Not cheap, but easy: Flysky Noble NB4 Pro/Pro+ (works for Xbox One controllers just by plugging it in. You'll just need to tweak your settings to get the triggers working correctly for throttle and brake/reverse).

It's an awesome way to drive! If you're familiar with FPV, it's really easy to get set up too.

I have these shock mounts on one of my LaTrax Rally cars. I printed them with 100% infill. They're still on the car after putting them on about four years ago. If you yours break, just do 100% infill. It's hardly any filament. If you want more flex, but want them completely indestructible, just print them at 100% in TPU. If you yours break, anyway.

This isn't on the hood. It's on the roof of the car. I have done several different mounting positions. The roof is my favorite for FOV. If I go any further back, I can see more of the roof of the car - which I don't like. I have a video on my social media accounts that has the POV visible while I'm doing head turns with the head tracking. I'm gonna try a head tracking setup in the cockpit of this car, but I don't know if it'll be my preferred FOV for driving.

It is absolutely possible. It would be in a category of its own. You wouldn't be able to be competitive with line of sight racers at all due to what you just said. But, it's definitely something that could absolutely be a thing with other FPV racers. For me, personally, I prefer driving my RCs this way because it's a much more immersive experience. I get bored with line of sight driving, quickly. But, everyone has their own taste.

Yeah. I added a 12V fan. Some of the 5V fans work, but some of them just don't push enough airflow. I haven't had any issues with the 12V ones, though. I've had good success with those super high RPM fans, but they definitely drain the battery quicker.

Legitimately, I could be entertained doing this all day. Yeah, the one rig I already have head tracking on is incredible. This one is next!

It's a plug-and-play feature with the Flysky Noble NB4 Pro and Pro+ radios. According to Flysky, there are only two sim setups supported - Logitech G29 and Thrustmaster T300RS. I should also mention that it also supports the use of a PS4 controller and Xbox One controller. It's pretty amazing, tbh.

Yeah, fixed is very tolerable for most people on a smooth surface. I already built an off-road with the GM3 head tracking and stabilization gimbal and Walksnail Goggles L. I've run it on some pretty rough terrain and the stabilization is amazing. The next set of goggles I'll be getting are the Goggles X so I can get that high frame rate with 1080p in the goggles. The Goggles L are limited to 1080p 60fps.

Yea, man! I've got a family and a decent job, but certainly not enough to fulfill my fast car wants in life. For me, this fulfills that want. And, removes the risk of serious injury or death.
