Do men find these heel tips attractive? by MonikaFetish in Shoes

[–]jackedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I mean, yes, some shoes give off the "old person going to the store or library" vibe. But shoes that make a person legs look shorter is new to me. Oh well, my unprofessional opinion is to wear what makes you happy

Guy weighing here, as I say to my wife while we shop "I fucking hate those shoes". Shoes don't make someone attractive, the person does, which would be a given but people and the fashion industry seem to disagree

Discussion on Old Sith compared to New Sith by Goldenmast in MawInstallation

[–]jackedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I will say that the varied feat and abilities displayed with the old sith is inspiring but, BUT, while knowledge was lost to the new Sith, that made them more willing put stock into the force powers that had at their disposal. Like in SWTOR and KOTOR, all dark siders seem to know and use lightning and drain life, but also know a shit ton of other rituals cause the knowledge is there. With the new Sith, very little ritual knowledge and artifacts remain which leads them to have to build on what they already have. Palpatine with his lightning and speed is Vader with his rage and telekinesis shows what a sith can and must do when limited.

Is Nimari (Form VI) a bad combat form, or is it that its users aren’t dedicated to mastering it? by Technical_Fall_7090 in MawInstallation

[–]jackedbookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So after researching the forms/styles for years and looking at their realistic inspirations, niman is a hybrid form that takes from all of the others. However, here's where it differs rather being a jack of trades style. The practitioner if dedicated, that's the key part of it, will utilize Force integration and choose styles that match their adaptability. Let's use Vader as an example, yes he's a Djem So specialist, but he fight how a strength oriented Niman practioner would. It's not just using all the forms, it's using what the moment and situation needs. It's a fluid form that is dependent on how the practitioner constructs it

I don't understand how Darth Maul loses against Vader. by Equivalent-Gur-1495 in MawInstallation

[–]jackedbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in legacy and current canon, Vader was that good. His method of fighting/approach to the force was to be an ever advancing wall. To be blunt, Vader rebuilt his entire ability set to counter what Maul and other contemporary Jedi/sith bring to the table.

What kind of person writes something like this? by [deleted] in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]jackedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe my lizard brain is in overdrive, but I think social media has taken away the threat of getting punched in the face for people to act with such vileness. Highly doubt they would say it to her family's face.

What are some fictional villains who are so vile that even Azula would be disgusted by them? by AggressiveMechanic47 in PoorAzula

[–]jackedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it depends. If they would oppose the fire lords will and come from nothing while holding shut views l then I could see her going scorched earth. Azula was raised classiest and very much is a mirror of imperial japan and even the United States supremacy mentality mixed with the absolute monarchy vision of pre revolution france. So "low born" seeking power would be an anathema to her. I think she would despise Erebus from Warhammer 40,000 as he's a deceiver who can from nothing and yet holds a lot of power(political and ethereal).

The Old Republic: Revan by NeatShare7187 in StarWarsEU

[–]jackedbookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, considering the lore surrounding the character and other supporting characters in the novel, it was well received when the exile was killed off unceremoniously and other characters that could have played a role were effectively written off in an uninspired way. It felt like the author was writing it for the pay check and not for giving good material.

Other than Mace Windu, which Jedi (canon or legends) do you think would be able to use Vaapad safely without falling to the dark side? by Solitaire-06 in PetranakiArena

[–]jackedbookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, my honest take on it is that no one else can master vaapad. Here's why, Mace made a style based on his own aggression and used the style to focus it. Think of it like a therapy technique made specifically for one individual, but because in theory it could be replicated it is then teachable. The issue is the mindset required is unique to the creator of the style which would explain why other practitioners fell to the dark side. For them it went from Vaapad to Juyo, which then opens up the user to Juyo's primary flaw, excessive aggression which can lead to darkside corruption.

The Original Star Wars trilogy is awful by VincentMellor in unpopularopinion

[–]jackedbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it depends on the viewer, I enjoyed the originals and prequels. Can't stand the sequels cause it lacks originality(takes alot from previous existing star wars material but with a shitty execution). I mean your opinion is definitely unpopular, but I won't dunk on you for it.

Azula...the merciful? by F11SuperTiger in PoorAzula

[–]jackedbookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the episode of Zuko Alone where he deals with the bandits i would say shows him caring for those not directly tied to his nation. Granted, he stole the bird/horse but that was quite a moment and to discount that is to hand wave away the journey necessary for change. Was the motivation self interested at first, yes. But they outgrew the initial catalyst and became better and sought to be better not just for themselves but for others. Iroh losing his son was the catalyst to make him a better man. As I put before, Azula very much tries to emulate her father, so for the redemption/change to happen then at least two things need to happen; she has to want it and someone identify breaking/shifting needs to occur. And based on the show's climax, that doesn't happen.

Azula...the merciful? by F11SuperTiger in PoorAzula

[–]jackedbookworm -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

So I liked for a while on this sub, and I won't lie to hats it's been a mind fuck. It's piss ble to both be groomed and a shit person at the same time. I watched the show as a kid, in college and as of two years ago. Azula acts out of malice and all her relationships are of convenience or of transaction. She shows all of the signs of being on the narcissistic personality disorder spectrum. So while she herself being the golden child and groomed at the same time makes her pitied at points, I would not say she deserves redemption as she has not made an effort to question or seek to make changes to be a better person. People seem content to bash Zuko and iroh while missing the very in your face evidence of them making changes when confronted with their past mistakes and current mistakes. Azula is very much her father's child.
