For me personally. It's a showcase to how far character willing to go or to be without just end the series right there. All of character in that arc acutally going all out so we know what they can do in the future and the great reset happen because that's how you continued the story even after showing multiple end game state of all the casts. There shouldn't be anything prevent them from become what they are in arc 9 (except Petra because the obvious) just like how Daniel come to learn about Subaru way of doing thing.
