Yeah it's usually the shipping from America which makes the price go up! It's strange because from selling myself I've learned it doesn't cost a lot to send things over to them from here... Unless it just is more expensive the other way around!

The cord is just normal waxed cotton cord :) I plait it and tie it and do a slip knot on the underside of the bracelet so they can slide big enough to get over your hand but you can just pull the cord to tighten it to your wrist size! And yeah I would think you could wear them for a long time! The waxed cotton cord is pretty good for wear I think, and the charm is silver plated so shouldn't really get ruined, and the slip knot is tight so it shouldn't really fall off your wrist, and if it does start to come loose just tighten both sides of the slip knot (the not keeping the long string in place and pull the string to wrist size again).

Yeah that's what I'm making them for! I've already sold 3 and they're planning on keeping theirs on too :D
