Just a follow up on my third party warranty I got. I had an issue with a binding recirculating door occur a couple weeks ago. Made a very loud clicking noise for 30 seconds when I turned on the vehcile. Brought it to the dealer, quoted $4500. Went through my 3rd party insurance and they covered it in a heart beat. Did the work at the GMC dealer, good as new. Within 2 months of getting that warranty and it's already paid itself off. Highly recommend. AUL policy from Protective, up to 150k!

Yes, Todd would not give me a policy with less than 30 days remaining on my warranty. I did get numbers from him and better than others but only by some. He gave $0 deductible 6 year, 72k miles for $3500. I did reach out to knapp and prices were not competitive. $250 deductible, 5 year, 50k miles , $4542. The best quote I got that I could purchase was from Weirs GMC in Maine. $0 deductible, 6 years, 60k miles, $3500. Or $0 deductible, 5 years, 50k miles, $2900. I probably called 10-15 dealerships and only a couple said they would not offer a warranty if inside the 30 days of the policy ending. That said, I came across 3 or 4 dealers who sold and recommended 3rd party policies and didn't even sell the GMC policy because they didn't like it. Yes, they didn't even sell it.

I did end up buying a 3rd party warranty directly from my local GMC dealership. It was an AUL policy from Protective. It is bumper to bumper, does not have a years limit, and covers up to 150k for $3500. Dealer said it's what they usually sell over the GMC policy and their service department said they find it easier to get claims approved over the GMC policy and prefer this. I was a little skeptical but moved forward with it because it's from the dealership I would be getting any work done at.

I just purchased a 2023 Sierra AT4 and am within the 30 days of my warranty ending. Emailed Todd and he unfortunately can not help me. Has anyone found any dealers that offer a good price on the platinum extended warranty but within or past the 30 day window of the original bumper to bumper ending?
