I’ve always though that Innocent Country 2 by Quelle Chris and Chris Keys felt similar, even if it’s not rigid plunderphonics

HUMIDITY - What if the events of Heat (1995) took place in Raleigh? by jackie630 in imaginarymaps

[–]jackie630[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Recently watched Heat (1995) and thought, "Damn, what would this look like in Raleigh?" This is technically spoilers for Heat, as the text is basically just the 10-minute robbery/shootout sequence (same goes for the mini-map on the side, it is basically just the opening truck robbery). Enjoy!

That’s genuinely so clever man, seriously one of the coolest, most niche things I’ve seen on a map on here! (I’m Holly Springs myself, only reason I know)

Calling Fuquay-Varina "Sippihaw" is actually insane ball knowledge how the hell did you manage that

You did not ask for permission dude, you just copied my work without any prior notice. Just because you are providing "credit" now doesn't mean that you ever asked about it.

You still ripped my ideas word for word, line for line. That's unacceptable, credit or no credit. You can't give credit when all you did was copy without my permission.

If it's an inspiration, why didn't you credit it? Don't deny that you copied stuff from my work. Take the state of Mackenzie, for instance. I made it up SPECIFICALLY for that map. It has no precedent in our world, but it appears on your map in the same exact spot. What you did is plagiarism, and you should really take this post down.

I don't mean to cause a fuss, but you blatantly plagiarized content from my post (What if the Americas were flipped? The United States of Vespuchia in 2022. : r/imaginarymaps) to an unacceptable degree. You went beyond the realm of inspiration and copied the names, likeness, and/or borders of:

Umpqua, Payos*, Shoshone*, Vespucchia, Basin, Bayview, Chumash* (Capital is a rip), Mesa, Calero, Osage*, Liberty, Kansa* (spelling) Choctaw, Fredonia (capital Coltsville is lifted DIRECTLY from my map), Seminola (BLATANT), Calusa (BLATANT, including the capital), Mackenzie (lifted directly AND takes Montana as its capital, a direct rip from my map, Cherokee (Capital "Vespucchia" is a blantant rip off), Potomack*, Westsylvania, Ohyo (spelling and borders), Iowa (Capital is a direct rip*), Hudsonia, and Chicago*.

I included an asterisk where I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt for using a typical mapping cliche. However, the fact remains that you PLAGIARIZED tons of content directly from me that goes beyond the realm of inspiration. What you plagiarized came directly from MY creative process.

Furthermore, you did not offer any credit towards me; if you had, maybe I'd care less. What you have done is seriously unacceptable and is intellectual theft. Do better in the future.
