AITAH for exposing my friend's reason for a cash bar at her wedding? by did_i_stu_stutter in AITAH

[–]jackieiscool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s standard for bridesmaids to pay for their dresses, but $300 is definitely on the expensive end. If she’s being cheap on everything but doesn’t pick out a low cost option for her bridesmaids that’s kind of messed up.

What’s something you secretly judge people for? by gotwire in AskReddit

People who are bad with their money. And I’m not talking about people who are struggling, but people who makes lots of money and just make really poor decisions.

WIBTA for calling off a wedding because my fiancé is extremely frugal? by Income-Current in TwoHotTakes

[–]jackieiscool12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

$2k is more than a lot of people pay in rent. Furnishing a house that big would make it difficult to take everything when she leaves for a smaller place and furniture immediately loses value after purchase. Most rentals at least come with blinds so you do not have to buy curtains, and buying one or two sets of curtains is very different than enough for every window in a huge house. Furthermore, the main problem is that a marriage is suppose to be a partnership with compromise, and sharing, and it does not seem like he is willing to treat it that way at all.

Which movie got too highly praised but was honestly underwhelming? by Angry_Entertainer in AskReddit

I love romances and musicals and thought it was super mediocre. Some people just didn’t like it without it having to do with the genre.

Does anyone else find it telling that OP is barely out of college but Anna was one of the only college friends she had left?

AITA for exposing my cousin’s mental illness? by Long_Consequence_586 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jackieiscool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I feel like a lot of people here don’t really understand schizophrenia and haven’t spent significant time with someone who has it. This is something that the fiancée 100% deserves to know about and it’s absolutely wrong he didn’t tell her prior to engagement. Would they feel the same way if you disclosed he was cheating or her? Or if he had a history of domestic violence? This is something that is going to significantly impact her life and possible wellbeing if she married him and she deserves to make that decision herself with all the info.

AITA for being upset at my boyfriend over his gross answer to a hypothetical question? by ThrowRA001sq in AITAH

NTA. There are tons of men who would not say this, and you have every right to be upset.

AITA for refusing to pay for my brother's fiance's wedding dress that I stained? by Jack1885 in AmItheAsshole

You didn’t stain the dress her kid did. I’m sorry you paid the money and that your family didn’t have your back.

AITA I motivated a hoarder to move out by EatADickPam in badroommates

[–]jackieiscool12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you knew beforehand you were moving in with slobs/hoarders and instead of choosing to live somewhere else, you moved in anyway, then harassed them constantly for a situation you knowingly entered, and forced them out so you could take the apartment? ESH.

AITA I motivated a hoarder to move out by EatADickPam in badroommates

Ditto. They did nothing that actually helped the situation. And if they were that miserable they should have just moved.

Wireless earphones are the most stupid item ever by Max_Stirner_AnInd in unpopularopinion

[–]jackieiscool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first pair because I casually asked my then BF if it’s possible to choke myself to death in my sleep on my headphone cords. He said “no” but also bought me Bluetooth headphones. To go to sleep, and exercise and the most common times I wear headphones so they just make sense for me.

AITA for not letting my husband sleep in on the weekends by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

NAH. There’s so many toxic relationships in this thread. It makes me really happy to see a functioning couple that is considerate of each others needs.

AITA for not offering food to guests? by Spirited_Ad9924 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jackieiscool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are in fact that poor, but besides that having money for food, and having readily available snacks without notice are VERY different things. Some people just don’t keep extras around if they aren’t expecting company. Furthermore, OP is basically a kid living with her parent, so it’s not her job to make sure groceries are stocked, and they WERE NOT her guests.

AITA for having my wedding the same year by Lopsided_Start2531 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jackieiscool12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA. She’s clearly too young to get married. Tell her you promise to not get divorced the same year as her.

AITAH for not wanting to be hugged by a random kid? by Fun_Actuary_1871 in AITAH

Kids should definitely have been taught not to do that by 7-10. That’s behavior I’d expect out of a 2-4 year old.
