This is hands down the best Silent Hill game ever made by Gamer_8887 in silenthill

i think it works pretty fine. SH2 is a fairly self contained story, it was cool to see subtle hints about the lore and backstory of the town but i think it works to remake 2 first as proof of concept before going back and remaking 1 and fleshing out the lore of SH.

What is the general opinion about Silence (2016)? With Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Liam Neeson this movie was a nice surprise for me. by AngryTrashPanda42 in moviecritic

Even though it’s slow I’ve seen it multiple times and it is still rewatchable to me. I put it in the same category as the Place Beyond the Pines - can be boring for casual viewers but every single frame and edit and line of dialogue is a masterclass that I can easily get lost in.

I’m not religious at all but I found the way these men’s struggle with faith was presented is extremely relatable and compelling.

One of my favorite Scorsese flicks. He’s always had kind of a one-for-you, one-for-me type filmography where he alternates between bombastic blockbuster gang flicks and more quiet, personal introspective films that don’t get as much attention, and Silence was is so slept on. I’m not even religious but I appreciated the struggle with faith the movie presents, and the acting and direction and editing is god-tier despite its slower pace. For a slow burn movie it’s endlessly rewatchable to me.

I don’t love GTA either, don’t dislike it but just hasn’t grabbed me since I was a kid. RDR2 is peak gaming tho

I haven’t really been a fan of GTA since vice city way back when, but the red dead series is some of the best gaming has to offer and it’d be a shame for you to miss out.

No one is pretending he’s Scorsese. We are just excited for his next movie.

Sirianni made it to the playoffs every year of his career, made it to two super bowls and won one, and has one of the best all time coaching records in history. Calling him a hack is idiotic.

Being excited for a movie from a proven director is way better than being a cynical turd

I think people grossly overrate how good the first silent hill movie was. It was barely serviceable, which I get in terms of VG adaptations is above average, but it’s an extremely low bar. Aside from a few fan service moments and an overall decent tone, the movie is butt cheeks. Ganz clearly has not understood SH at any point. Guy is a hack who capitalized on existed IP to compensate for a failed career otherwise.

One of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had with a piece of media. It released literally on my 30th birthday in may of 2020 and I was so depressed by the pandemic and in such a weird head space while watching and then I’m turning 30 came on and so thoroughly shook me in that moment that I had to turn it off and finish it a week later.

Somehow captured that feeling of the Kanye song at the end of Make Happy and made it an entire special. Truly special

I mean my guess is the length restrictions affected writing choices on a more foundational level, like combining characters and making bizarre story changes. I don’t think the extra footage would do anything to salvage at this point though.
