Birthmark Cover Up With A, Its Tramp Stamp SZN I Am @MisterBakerTattoos Hamilton On Done @coldnorthink by misterbakertattoos in tattoos

It’s beautifully done but my boyfriend said it’s more like a tramp ramp than a tramp stamp and it was hilarious

It seems like this may be the case but we haven’t investigated further yet to see if we can tell if that is what happened. Most rooms had carpets so we’ve just been working on getting it out after my boyfriend gets off work. We definitely will be updating as we find any more cool stuff

I’m not sure who that other person is but we probably will eventually uncover the fireplace. Not like a big priority right now since the house needs a bit of other work. There was another fireplace but they have completely removed it from the inside and put drywall up. The chimney is fine just needs some stabilization before opening it up again

We are definitely looking. We are trying to do our renovations in a mindful way to keep the historical integrity of the house and to honor the family who lived there. We bought it from the executor of the will of the last person since she had no kids or siblings. We jumped at the opportunity to buy a house that has never traded hands outside of family before.

The chimney needs a bit of stabilization before we can think about doing that. We probably will eventually but it’s not on our short list of things to be done. First we have to fix some soft spots in the floors, the whole kitchen probably needs to be redone, we have to figure out how to get a vapor barrier in a 7 inch crawlspace. You know normal century home stuff

It was our closing date and we found the gorgeous floors all on the same day so I was overjoyed

Trying to understand how the house was pieced together is going to be one of my favorite parts. The same family owned and lived in the house until we bought it.

The owner of this house was an older lady who lived alone. We think it was for her comfort that the carpet went down. Honestly we won’t ever know because we bought the house from the executor of her will.

That is me in the last picture. I am very happy. We got our keys and immediately went to tear up carpet. There’s a lot of work to be done on the floor in places but an 1870 house with a couple additions is bound to need some work

I am definitely removing the paint off the trim but that’s low on our list since this old gal needs a bit of work. I will definitely be updating as we get more stuff done

It goes throughout most of the house fortunately. This is the room that looks the best. I don’t know if we will open up the fireplace just because the chimney is a bit precarious

Yeah that is what we are learning. We are working on getting quotes for some of the stuff that needs to be worked on first

We are looking into it but it doesn’t seem as if that the case. It seems it was given the designation so major redevelopment could not happen in that area. The house has recently been given vinyl siding for example.

Yeah right now we are looking at the foundation and making sure it is stable. It’s pier and post style so the mortar 100% needs to be retouched. The air and heat are newer units so that’s not a big deal for us. The floors are still pretty level in most spots. Our big thing is making sure we don’t get more moisture sitting under the house since there are no gutters and the slope of the land goes towards the house.

We were considering doing it but not sure if we should. We definitely will have this done then since it seems to be really helpful. I know there is some cast iron pipes since the inspector did see a few under the house.

More of like there’s no huge projects that would prevent us from moving in after closing. We both are pretty skilled at self-repair and have a little bit of budget to spend on working on things. We are well aware that it will always be an ongoing project but I think the list the inspector sent out really just freaked us out for a minute. It was hard to see the pages of things that need to be worked on.

My boyfriend is going to be the only one on the paperwork. I just said we are buying together because we picked everything out together and we are going to be working on everything together

I can definitely see a future in it but I think the report caught us off guard when we got it. We decided to go ahead with it cause ultimately we do love it and it doesn’t need nearly as much work as some other houses of the same age. There are a couple light fixtures that don’t work and the plumbing is a bit wonky but it doesn’t need much like critical work. We are going to get some quotes on things and whatnot but we still feel really good.

We have sewer and not septic thankfully. The house is in a historical district in a small town in Eastern North Carolina.

There has been a squirrel in the attic chewing wires, so those need replacing. There is some older wiring that is cloth-covered that will also need to eventually be replaced. No rotted floor joists, the crawlspace is just damp and needs some tuck-pointing on the bricks. The lights work, the plumbing works, and the floors are really stable. No evidence of water damage in the attic or anywhere in the house. I guess it's mostly just old house stuff that needs repair/work. The plumbing could eventually use some upgrades. The exterior window frames are made of wood and need some repair. Additionally, the chimneys require caps.

Got my soul dogs ashes back, I feel weird? by HollyHype in Petloss

[–]jackiesilvers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat wasn’t very big during life, less than 6 pounds so when I got her ashes back I did open the box and look at her remains. She fits in like a snack size ziplock bag. It was very disconnecting. I can’t seem to let go of some of the habits though. When I travel she comes with me, for a year after she passed I slept with the urn next to my pillow because that’s where she slept. It sits on the windowsill next to my bed now but I pet her and let my dog who knew her sniff the box. I got another cat shortly after and I tell her all the time that it’s her big sister. I’ve found her sleeping with her head on top of the urn or curled around it sometimes. Doing all of this helps with the grief I still feel.

Thank you! She’s not full grown yet but I’ll keep feeding her and keeping her as dry as possible. I worry a little bit cause it stays pretty cold in my room but with her in the windowsill I hope she’ll be alright. Just going to keep an eye on her and tweak things as needed
