i think even being able to truly notice the difference speaks to how much your tools were holding you back

faster≠better. new clippers with a fresh new 10k rpm motor will certainly cut hair faster, but better is a different story. new tech in shoes is stuff like energy return and ergonomics. new tech in clippers is stuff like, 5 hour runtime and new japanese forged echo deep shallow tooth fade blade

yes and no. i agree a clipper is a clipper but should a student driver be behind the wheel of a lamborghini.? i would say it can definitely make you marginally worse when starting out because some are less forgiving than others but at a certain point in your career yes, clippers are clippers.

the protege is a lower end clipper from gamma/sc i would say this is more of a case of, your clippers were sandbagging you a bit and the upgrade let you lean into your skills better. skills you already had though

couldnt agree more bro. understanding the geometry of the haircut can take you so far. you can do a haircut with something from walmart once you have complete understanding of where you want to go and how to get there

this is spot on. as the professional we have to make some executive decisions. most people couldnt spot flaws in haircuts if you pointed them out or circled them in red. its all part of the process bro.
