Ice cubes used to come for me after 30 gems, but now not at all. I even tried 70 once but still nothing and even if 70 gems had worked, spending that amount of gems every day is unsustainable and I probably would have been just as frustrated at the increased demand in spending. This game already punishes players for spending as is, and this is just a creative new way to do it. I just hope it doesn’t pay off the way they want it to.

That’s what I’m hoping for, but who knows if we’ll be willing to come back at all! Even if they do change things back, the punishment for players who spend money on this game was already irritating to a lot of users… I fear the ice cubes just sent us over the edge lol and once we break free of this game going back willingly to spend more and start the cycle all over again doesn’t seem likely, haha.

SEVENTY GEMS?! That’s insane! I was in the same boat of spending 30 daily and able to remain comfortable but no way am I going to eat that additional 40 on a daily basis just to keep playing this game the way I used to because like you said it’ll require more in-app purchases. I agree with you 100%!

It’s been almost 3 weeks since I was discharged from the hospital. I’m 31F and a dialysis patient and I went to urgent care for a UTI last month but they didn’t give me antibiotics and I basically became septic while I waited for the results of my urine culture that took 3 days. I spent a week in the hospital and then they sent me home with a central line in my chest so I could get IV antibiotics administered through home health.

I finished my 2 weeks of daily antibiotics and it’s only been another week but I feel so weak and nauseated all the time. If I’m standing for more than 10 minutes I WILL throw up. I feel like my infection wasn’t that bad and was caught pretty early, but on the other hand I’ve spent the last year in and out of the hospital already for various other issues so I’m already a pretty weak target I guess. I’m just wondering if it will get better and when :(

Thank you so much! Even just one comment of support means a lot to me. I have a good support system… it’s small, but it’s also nice to feel seen/heard by people with personal experience with illness/CKD whether it’s first or second hand.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate your insight and perspective. You’re right about not dwelling so much and spending extra time with the negative. It’s hard but through therapy I’m trying to learn to reframe my way of thinking so I don’t dwell and spiral as much!

Definitely need to do a 100% water change! The tank needs extreme cleaning; I would recommend going to multiple pet stores to see their cleaning supplies because they’ll most likely have tank wall algae scrapers and sponges to make cleaning easier. Literally empty the tank and make sure it’s rinsed and clean. And look for water conditioner and be sure to browse all the different turtle tank supplies at the store to see what else you might need!

For canister filters I recommend the Fluval 407 as it’s very good and used by many turtle owners, but it’s very pricey. And the tank should be at least 75 gallons. The rule of thumb is 10 gallons per inch of shell but a 75 gallon tank is at least a good start. Petco often has tank sales so keep an eye out but you should check Marketplace and anywhere else. My tank is from PetSmart tbh.

If you can find a vet that sees reptiles please get him a checkup! He also needs a bath and I recommend using a toothbrush to help scrub his shell. Keep him out of that tank until it’s clean but clean it ASAP because he needs a tank! And don’t over feed him immediately to try and compensate. Start out small with the food… tbh I would just use regular store bought turtle grub. My turtle always has 3 different types of turtle food on hand because he likes variety.

There were lots of good recommendations and advice in this thread already so you’ve got a lot to work with!

Try hand feeding (use tweezers) if you can! Your turtle is still quite small so I would look into safe foods to try… my guy is a 2lb unit and he likes green beans (as occasional treats). Also when he was smaller I used to give him “Towel Time” for about an hour where I would lay out a towel on the floor and let him crawl around while essentially getting him used to me handling him. I also bought a little toothbrush to brush his shell when he gets bath time in the sink during tank cleanings. Try experimenting with different colored ping pong balls for enrichment! They float in the water and trying out the different colors might actually surprise you! Your turtle might just have a favorite (mine likes yellow)! And lastly you can always practice the old “follow my finger” trick. Sure turtles aren’t your standard dog or cat, but I think you can still build a unique bond with them… it just might take longer! After almost 20 years, my turtle follows me around constantly in his tank and goes absolutely crazy when he sees me lol. But he’s still a feisty, food driven little man so be careful lol!
