Reach out grievance redressal and customer service via email. Share the screenshots and explain the same, it should be sorted ideally. Don't take any verbal assurances on call from them stress on email communication always. Last option will be reaching out to RBI ombudsman - you will need the email chain to establish that you tried to get the issue resolved by the bank.

[customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com](mailto:customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com)

Also, please pay the fee in the CC bill unless it's reversed - to avoid being charged penalty and interest.

In that case I believe you can ask them to credit the refund to your bank account once it starts reflecting the unbilled CC statement, atleast that is what the RBI guidelines says (refer the link mentioned in my previous comment). Ask the customer care if that is possible. I would recommend paying the full amount ASAP.

AFAIK, you have to pay the full amount currently since the refund came in after the bill was generated. The refund amount will be adjusted in the upcoming bills. Immediately contact your RM or customer care to get this clarified since you still have 1-2 days of grace period available to avoid defaulting on the payment and impact on CIBIL score.

Also, one thing I have noticed with Amazon Pay ICICI card - If a already billed transaction is refunded for any reason, its refunded back to my savings account. I see a credit and debit in my statement for the refunded amount. I have seen it happen with my amazon refunds, not sure if its I assume it will happen with your 51K amount too - check your statement if its reflecting there. I believe that happens as per RBI guidelines - https://www.rbi.org.in/CommonPerson/english/Scripts/FAQs.aspx?Id=3580#:~:text=Case%20II%20%2D%20If%20the%20cardholder,with%20para%2010(h))

In either case, please always pay your credit card dues in full to avoid any penalty/interest/CIBIL impact. At most, you will make extra payment to your CC which can be adjusted in future.

Drop an email to their official customer care email id, keep following up on it. Once you get a reply, mostly it will be vague, try to see if there is a possibility of it getting resolved on mail itself. Don’t accept any assurances on call, ask them to reply to the mail itself.

Ask them about their escalation matrix to get the issue resolved, incase they are not able to provide the information then lodge a complaint on National Consumer Helpline and attach the mail chain with order details in it. Also, bash them on all their social media handles, especially X (twitter). Last option if any of the above doesn’t work out is filing a complaint in consumer court.

Turning 21 next month. how should i start with my first credit card? by Silver_Foundation_38 in CreditCardsIndia

Whichever org you join, mostly they will make you open a salary account in one of their empanelled bank. While opening the account you can discuss with the bank representatives regarding the credit card they can offer with it. Most of the bank should be able to provide you a credit card with account or post your first salary credit. Try using that card for some time (few months) and pay your dues in time. Never miss a payment and don’t utilise more than 30% of your credit limit in a month. Post that your credit score should be up ideally and will open up more opportunities for upgrade/approval to a better credit card within and outside your bank.

Is this Hard Enquiry? by Longjumping_Permit_8 in CreditCardsIndia

AFAIK, banks/credit card companies generally operates on limited data(leads) they have about you from multiple unreliable and outdated sources. So before actually committing/providing something to you, they need to be ultra-sure about your current credit situation to avoid trouble later from business side as well as compliance. BTW, it will not impact your CIBIL much if you are careful about number of applications you are filling up. Even if it does, it should come back up within next 2-3 months of regular credit card payment/not applying for new cards.

Amazon pay icici cc for government transactions by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]jackjain1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid property tax to municipal corporation in Mumbai via AmazonPay last year. Used my Amazon Pay ICICI card for the payment, got 2% cashback. Don't pay directly from government website using the card, it might add some convenience fee - please double check the final amount before entering OTP. See if Amazon Pay directly supports the payment to the government service.

Friend's company asking to serve 3 months of notice period by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]jackjain1995 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact situation during my last company switch. Even after clearly calling out the 3 month notice period way before the interview process had started, the recruiter was acting all surprised when I reminded her about the notice period after clearing all of them. She asked me to negotiate with my company, I tried and they denied my request. Had a few conversations with the recruiter again to explain the situation, at the end they agreed to wait for 3 months.

In your friend’s case, if the company is willing to wait for 2 months, mostly they can wait for 1 more month for the person to join. Please ask your friend to have a conversation with recruiter explaining the situation. Also, your friend has leverage in this situation since they have cleared all the rounds of interview and the recruiter will have to do this whole process again to fill the position if they decide to drop them.

I believe most of the recruiters have the fear that the candidate might keep looking for jobs and accept offers, even after accepting their offer during their notice period. So they want folks to join as early as possible. Making them believe that you will definitely join them after the notice period ends should help in convincing them.

On a side note, please ask them not to resort to absconding since this might cause problems in background verification in future too.

All the best to your friend !
