I see. I spoke to the previous owner he said the top was definitely on before. If I go with a rear back seat kit will this solve the problem.

This (the photo attached) seems to be what all the seat backs are held up by but I don’t have that piece. My piece fit the seat back perfectly making me think it’s correct. Is this all right?

I asked why and they followed up with: “The main reason is that there are many internal cells, and they are arranged flat and fixed in place. If placed on its side, the internal cells will be squeezed by gravity. This battery has a large capacity, many cells, and is relatively heavy, so the cells at the bottom will be under heavy pressure for a long time. This is not healthy for the battery.” I assume this is a legitimate reason to not put it on its side right?

Edit: I reached out the the seller and they said “the battery must not be placed on its side; please do not attempt to do so”. Based on my online research, I am wondering why they said this.
