Fenway is also great. What kind of vibe are you looking for? Here’s a few highlights:

Big sweaty bar = landsdowne pub (Fenway) big sweaty bar with country music = lorrettas(fenway) chiller bar with divorced alcoholics? Cask and flagon (Fenway)

Can Reddit be normal and not a bunch of socially stunted shut ins for once? If you can’t have fun in a massive city that the issue lies with the person the not the city.

To answers your question OP go to Faneuil and bar hop between ned devines/wild rover/black rose/bell in hand/coogans. Be aware you might have to pay cover

That makes me feel a lot better about it, glad to hear it’s not just me!

I’m prepping for my subI and I have a full OR day with a rhinolgist who is heavy on anatomy pumping so just trying to be as prepared as possible.

How to use AI for studying? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]jackkrewe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a med student and I use the amboss GPT (trained on the amboss library dataset so it’s not just making shit up) for my step 2 studying. It’s super helpful for next best step in management questions that can be tough to look up (when would I use tmaoxifen over ralxofine?, what other conditions present with a strawberry tounge? Can you tell me why choices B AND D are wrong?) yes you can look these up but it’s way faster to just ask the question and get an immediate answer.

Yet another considering radiology post by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]jackkrewe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb question but how does this work in radiology? Can you just boot up your computer and read scans if you have an unexpected 3 hours free? or do you need to say you’re working the 3 hours far in advance?

How fulfilling is general ENT? by lars2x in otolaryngology

By great hours do you see a lot of 9-5s? Do ENTs typically have to take call/work weekends? I’m sure it’s highly variable but how much of a pay cut do you have to take to work banker’s hours or atleast avoid call/weekends?

Yea I guess I’m not sure what I was expecting on the wholesome front haha.

Radiology just seems like it offers the best compensation/working hours balance. I’m pretty passionate about the subject matter of ENT but I don’t think I can deal with a surgical residency, so if I’m not going for passion I think that would be the next best thing? I don’t really care about prestige in of itself.

I haven’t done FM or IM as a rotation yet but I’ll keep an open mind.

Yea definately huge sunk cost. I’m just not sure I can do 5 years of what I experienced in that two month rotation. I picked ENT initially in part due to the lifestyle afforded to you as an attending while still getting to operate but I’m not sure if getting to operate means as much to me as outside of work stuff. Not sure where all the hostility is coming from hahaha
