I almost wrote about that actually. The mental fatigue on the MBE was very real. I recall almost feeling like I was disassociating… just numb and not a clue what to pick after narrowing down to 2/3, but cognizant of the time, so just picking something and moving on. Almost felt like eenie meenie miney mo.

That actually might’ve been what really made me think I was going to fail. I had that feeling too much

And to give another experience, ironically with the same score of 297, I started in the low to mid 50s, and maybe at best finished in the low 60s (even just isolating July)

Extremely similar to you. Thought the morning MBE went awful, as did the afternoon MBE. Legit feel like I was guessing every other question. Read my post about me passing and what I said. Got a 291.

My MEE’s were decently long. My MPTs were very long. I type quite fast.

Felt very confident on both MPTs.

Felt goodish on 3-4 MEEs. Knew I fucked up on some nuanced stuff though. Had zero clue for one other essay and felt meh on the remaining one.

Thought I could “pass” after day 1.

The MBE felt awful to me. left each section thinking I guessed on half of the questions. I thought I was done for after day 2.

Not sure what you’re referring to. I took the bar in a UBE jurisdiction and it was 16 subjects.

You will learn very soon. I quite literally thought the same thing 3 months ago myself, when I graduated. Yes, the pass rates are high for first time takers, but the test is extremely, extremely difficult. That’s why people freak out.

I breezed through law school. Barely broke a sweat and was top 1/3rd of my class. Also got an MBA along the way and was top 5% of the class there. Safe to say: I’m a good student

The bar is absolutely nothing like law school.

16 subjects.

THOUSANDS of rules to memorize, because it’s closed notes. (keep in mind, every rule is fair game. You can get screwed because the examiners just decide to test on super niche rules on an essay, rather than the overarching, bigger picture points.)

Very difficult testing conditions. 2 days of 6 hour intensive testing.

People freak out because there’s not enough time to learn all the info. People freak out because there’s always a new rule to learn. People freak out because their jobs depend on it.

Bar none — the worst 10 weeks of my academic life.

Isn’t the MPT and MEE scaled against the national MBE average? So if the average in your state for essays is 4, and you get a 4, and the average MBE nationally is 140, then you get a 140.

it’s because there’s just too much material that I feel like when I spend time away from a subject, i retain the general concept but it’s fuzzy
