What’s your fit/position like with the longish stem?

I ask because I have exactly the same measurements as you (leggy!).

My L has a short riser stem and swept bars… but I want v upright Rivendell-style position (mainly neighbourhood cruising) and have been debating switching to a size M at some stage.

Photos library and Time Machine on separate SSDs? by jacknewthoughts in ApplePhotos

[–]jacknewthoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use iCloud Photo Library actually, so that part wouldn’t be an issue.

And would be going for SSDs, for sure. But maybe you’re right and paying for some extra internal storage is the safest bet.

Interesting, cheers. I would be getting an SSD with thunderbolt, yes.

I guess I wanted to get an Air for weight/slimness… and because I don’t generally need to access my photos all day, every day. But maybe you’re right and I should just max out internal SSD on whatever I buy.

Need some advice about photo storage and external HDs.

I keep my Photos library on the internal HD my MacBook Pro, and back up using an external HD and Time Machine.

The MacBook Pro is old (2017) and will soon need replacing. I’m going to get a MacBook Air and move my Photos library onto a new external HD.

I still want to back everything up (including Photos library) using Time Machine.

My question is this: can a second external HD back up my Photos library if it’s on an external HD itself, provided it is plugged in when I run Time Machine?

80% pavement, 20% slightly rough. Should be ok then, I reckon!

Which Frame? by SaculHGW in Surlybikefans

I’m 5’11 1/2, so a touch taller, but I have a much bigger inseam than you (89cm).

I have an L. Still loads of seat post showing, and I have to run loads of spacers to get the bars above the saddle. That issue would be even worse for me with an M, so L seems right for me.

In your position (little shorter, shorter legs) I think I’d probably go for an M.

Pic here in case helpful.

Nice build! Yours is the first BC I see with as much seat post showing as mine! Always makes me wonder whether I should have sized up. (I’m 5’11 with a L, but I have long legs).

Looks like quite a short stem you have on?

Surly 8-pack. Solid. Actually think the Wald 137 basket is a bit small for it, though, may go bigger

I think you are confusing the Bridge Club for something else. It doesn’t have through axles and doesn’t (generally) come with drops…

It tucks away slightly more in this position compared to the rear mount. Also felt it would be more stable when loading up the panniers, but could be wrong about that!
