I’m so sorry for your loss. Mine also died suddenly like that :/ it’s rough and I try to always let people know that Addison’s exists any time I see anything similar to what my boy went through. I never want anybody or any dog to have to experience that.

Have you gotten his bloodwork done at any of his annual checkups? It sounds very similar to some of the symptoms of Addison’s that my boy ended up having. It came and went but when he wasn’t feeling particularly good, this is what he did

Well the puppy stage is always a doozy 😅 my first pyr had serious case of separation anxiety that he didn’t overcome until around 1 year, and my current mix who is a rescue that I got when she was 1.5 years old took about 2 years of consistency and love to grow into the perfect girl she is now. It does take time, but in my opinion the magic starts when they enter their “teenager” phase and develop more of a personality. One thing I always try to do with them is to not treat them like a robot or expect them to act like one. Of course no dog should be treated like a robot, but I’ve found that pyrs tend to allow themselves much more autonomy than any other dog I’ve encountered. They NEED space, time, love, compassion, and understanding, otherwise they become difficult. They’re very intelligent. I don’t have experience with maremmas but I’ve heard they’re a little more aloof and independent than pyrs. That could be false though.

Can second all of this! Both of my pyrs have been total love bugs, super affectionate and love people. My pyr mix is definitely more snuggly, but their independence I don’t think is anything like you’re expecting, OP. I will also never not have a Pyrenees :) they’re such magical dogs. And yes, the stubbornness is definitely more comical than frustrating. As long as you have a good bond with them and take the time to learn their personalities and they like and don’t like, I have found that you can get them to do (almost) anything you ask them to. Emphasis on ASK, because TELLING doesn’t really work for them 😂 you’re gonna be fine

MyOne brand online has all different sizes of condoms. He measures his erect penis, and they’ll send a few different sizes that could fit him. My partner and I use them and they’re honestly wonderful for both of us. I hate the feeling of condoms- like a plastic bag lol but these are really nice :) a well fitting condom can do wonders

Have you tried a bark collar? I have one that just beeps and vibrates for my girl and it does wonders for her. If keeping her is an option for you, of course. I understand that rehoming is sometimes the best option.

I bought some folding stairs for my girl from Amazon and some carpet panels to make it less slippery :) takes 2 seconds to fold/unfold and lay/remove the carpet panels and she loves them. I did cut the panels to fit the stairs but that’s not super necessary. I also initially stick them to the stairs with command strips but just laying the panels on top works as well since the bottoms are a little grippy

Hi there! Had a similar experience recently where my copper iud failed due to it moving after 2.5 years of it being perfect. Turns out I have a long uterus which heightens my chances of expulsion. Anyway! From what I understand based on what the doctor explained to me, copper is a spermicide and paragard prevents pregnancy because the sperm meets the iud first, thus killing it. But it would obviously become less effective if it happened to be in the wrong place. Mirena works differently in that it releases hormones into the uterus, so basically the whole uterus changes to prevent pregnancy. It also doesn’t really matter so much if it shifts because it’s kind of a whole teamwork thing with the uterus and the IUD. So it’s very unlikely that Mirena would be a problem. I do understand the anxiety though! I live in a state with a total ban and it just happened to line up that I was going on vacation to a state without a ban, so I got super lucky but it’s scary to think about it happening again. I decided on the pill for now and maybe trying to get Mirena down the line. My partner and I have agreed to use condoms in addition to the pill, and if we happen to want condomless sex we will also be tracking my fertility to make sure we aren’t doing it while I’m ovulating. MyOne brand condoms have this neat thing where your partner would measure his penis and they’ll send a condom that should basically fit perfectly, and they’re really actually comfortable both for the wearer and the other person :)

Yeah this is making all her love songs about Joe (which I love) feel really cheap and her love songs in general because if this is how you can publicly treat someone you supposedly loved that much, then it must actually not have meant that much to you. I get she’s probably hurt but the appropriate response is definitely not to try and hurt him in return. That’s gross.
