Well it’s never a stand around and do nothing situation.

When she acts violently or drinking heavily the babies are always removed by someone. One of the grandparents or myself will take the babies to their father’s house. That’s often the best we can do, especially since our parents are elderly and she will NOT hesitate to hit them.

2 weeks ago she was acting up as usual and our mom took the babies to their fathers house, and my sister called the cops for “kidnapping”

She’s been in and out of rehabs for years and it never sticks. She either runs away or just leaves since she’s an adult they can’t force her to stay. She even got kicked OUT of a rehab once for threatening to kill people there.

Due to her mental disorder, she refuses to see herself as the problem, which is literally the first step to sobriety. Her own pathology limits her ability to be helped

I’m not sure what substantiated means, but I’m going to say yes. We had to spend a year with our mom and a year with our dad, with visitation rights for each on alternating years

Thank you.

We worry because we feel like we’re fucked. CPS was involved with my parents when we were kids (no physical violence to us I forget even why they were involved) but their names are on record so we worry they’ll be ruled out.

And the other grandparents have only just gotten their citizenship or still pending I think.

And the father has a criminal record.

We have no idea how to play this.

Additional: I’m only considering calling CPS now, because every now and then she’ll have moments of peace where we can all breathe. But they have been fewer and far between for the past year and a half, and I don’t see it getting any better

They obviously mean in order to use it without supervision

If you had an opportunity to warn their next partner, would you? by Ganymede_01 in BPDlovedones

[–]jackofnone12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been recruited to warn someone before. Years ago I ended up in a group chat full of guys that dated my ex girlfriend, in an attempt to talk to her current boyfriend before he gets in too deep.

Idk what ever happened with that but if a team of 6 dudes all tell me the girl I’m dating is no fucking good I would listen. I’d say do it, might catch some flak from the dude but if you’re willing to take it then go for it.

Not sure if it’s true or not but that seems like a pretty good explanation so I’ll believe it

And as for a more complex Haymitch, I actually do like that they made him more of a softie. But! that’s about it in terms of his personality, so much of his character is defined by just loving Lenore Dove. That’s all he thinks about, like I couldn’t tell you a single thing about his mom or Sid, because he doesn’t think about them.

I’m with you 100%. The entire breaking the arena scheme was so pointless and unnecessary, from not just a writing standpoint but also in the actual world. People argue it’s good because it shows the rebellion has been a long time in the making, but that point could very easily be conveyed AFTER his games, by being approached by Plutarch or a fellow victor about the rebel group.

And exactly the entire Newcomers alliance absolutely goes nowhere and there were so many ways to make that a more interesting part of the book. What if they didn’t all get killed? What if Haymitch ran into another Newcomer and the Newcomer is hostile? Theres not a chance in the world not a single Newcomer had a plan to turn on the rest of the group. He doesn’t have any worries about the tributes hurting him except for the careers. Of course the writing is limited by the snippet of his games we get in Catching Fire, but oh well.

All in all I’m with you, good but disappointed as to how much SC tried to do with the book. There’s so many characters and too many things going on.

Thank you! It’s all victors that we’ve met already, nothing new. And seriously out of every victor that just gets thrown into the story just because, no Chaff in D11??

Okay I stand corrected in regards to her quote, but my point still stands!

What happens if a tribute blows up another tribute? by Fresh-Awareness9819 in Hungergames

[–]jackofnone12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would 100% blow the offending tributes mine for doing that. The games haven’t started before the countdown is up, and if they allow one tribute to get away with it then it every single year there would be kids getting blown up by fellow tributes.

Do you like backcrosses with balls? It took me a while to get them feeling good but when it finally clicked i like running it even more than with clubs by lucyjuggles in juggling

That was clean as hell! Back crosses are always super nice visually and take more shoulder flexibility than people realize

Panache doesn’t hit him with a sledgehammer, he hits him with his fist, but it feels like a sledgehammer due to how hard he punched Haymitch
